SALT LAKE CITY — If residents of Salt Lake City violate Gov. Gary Herbert’s new “Stay Home, Stay Safe” directive, which went into effect Friday, they could be charged with a class B misdemeanor, fined up to $1,000 and spend up to six months in jail. Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall signed a proclamation shortly after the governor announced the directive, giving local legal backing to the state’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” directive.

Were this thing treated as H1N1 was treated by Hussein there would be no hooha and no one would notice anything special other than this one has some nastier consequences for the normally at-risk-for-flu population though the death rate seems to be lower.And the economy would not have been destroyed to ‘level the playing field” with China so that we do not have an unfair advantage over them economically. Try to enforce it and people will just start coughing on LEOs. Then the LEOs will have to go into a 2 week self-quarantine. Pretty soon there won’t be anyone on the streets to enforce this BS.
What about Bill of rights; life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. What about 4th amendment and the standards of probable cause. Unless you have been tested there is no way to tell if you are infected. So the police have no probable cause to stop you. You can Quarantine an infected person but you can’t quarantine everybody that you have no idea what they have ever been infected.
