No Shoes. No Shirts. No Masks. No Service.

Masks are required in SoCal to enter grocery stores. We are all bandits.

“Out of politeness, I will refrain from saying anything further.”

I try to be polite and friendly on these threads but anytime I am attacked personally, I refuse to let it go unanswered. I make no exceptions. I don’t give a pass to seniors, young folks, women, or anyone else.

Your post sounds a lot like a personal attack, your disclaimer notwithstanding.

Or to put it another way: “Please don’t get cute with me.”

I don’t believe these masks do much good other than to instill fear into people.

However ... I pretty much stick close to home even in normal times. I took early retirement and, aside from a little volunteer work I do, I’m a homebody who likes to read a lot.

As for the hand washing, I’ve always done that.

As to not getting into any of the touchy-feely stuff ... I’m glad to shake hands but please don’t hug me. I’m anything but a close talker. Generally, I maintain a healthy personal space.

I should emphasize that these are things I do routinely, whether or not it’s flu season.

Given your age and state of health, I can well understand why you and your family should be sheltering at home.

But there’s only so much you can demand from those who are outside the high-risk groups.

At this point, my concerns are mainly for the younger folks who need to be back at work ... like yesterday.

Some guy reported that he was told all he had to do was to wear a mask when he went to the grocery store. He said that evidently the store has a policy about also wearing a shirt and trousers.

You bought SIX of the Trump masks? Good for you!!!

When we lived in CA, it was terrible to be surrounded by so many liberals — and we were in conservative Simi Valley. I’d love to see people’s faces when you strut around in your Trump mask. LOL!

“These bastards are so proud of themselves they think they’ve got him now they are ALL high fiving each other!!!”

I figure Fauci and Birx have a daily conference call with Hillary to get their marching orders. We pray every day for God to give PDJT wisdom and strength.

Many thanks for your thoughtful response, and you need not concern yourself with my tears. The very few I shed are much too precious to waste on you.

Please accept my sincere best wishes for a full recovery both from your soul-crushing fear of this flu virus and for the (hopefully) temporary loss of your rationality and sense of decorum in a public forum. I congratulate you on your plan to continue to hide your face with a mask while in public as this may help your much needed full recovery. Cheers! & regards.

On our last Zoom conference, my boss told us that, as installers, we’re going to be wearing a mask, goggles, and disposable shoe coverings EVERY time we go into a house to do an install. He said it’s not because HE thinks it’ll do any good, but it’s to make our clients more at ease. He’s a conservative and he doesn’t like masks either, but we have to think of what the client wants.

It’ll be awkward and uncomfortable, but I’ll do it if it keep me working and I get to earn a paycheck.

So the virus isn’t airborne?

And that German study that found no viable viruses on products or surfaces at the grocery store.

Sure makes me wonder how that one lawyer in New York gave it to 40 people in a week. He must have supernatural powers.

... when I tried to do so, the rubber came apart.

Arghhhh, that stinks! The one in the pic looks like a very old vintage gas mask.

When I was a kid I had a WWII gas mask bought at the Army Surplus Store. Long gone now. The mask that is ... and the store, nothing like it even by the '70s.

That store had everything surplus from WWII and maybe the Korean war. Helmets, demilled pineapple grenades, bayonets, patches, ribbons, military pins and medals. Jackets, uniforms, tents, rain coats ... everything. For next to nothing us kids outfitted ourselves with the works to play war.

Sorry to hear that. That would suck.

I’m grateful that Alabama doesn’t have that requirement. If nothing unexpected comes up, our State will be out of prison this Thursday.

On our way to the store, we saw a group of women walking for exercise. Those women would trigger the Social Distancing Nazis. They were definitely less than 6 feet apart and they weren’t wearing masks. They were talking amongst themselves and clearly enjoying themselves.

I was proud for them:)

So the virus isn’t airborne?

At this point, nobody knows for absolute certain, but the link I provided indicates there is a very good probability that the Virus is indeed airborne.

It is unreasonable to believe that when people spew billions of microparticles into the air which can linger in the air, that these particles would not be infectious. Hitching a ride on sneeze particles is a well known method for virus transmission. It is foolish to think it doesn't work for this virus too.

And that German study that found no viable viruses on products or surfaces at the grocery store.

I've read other articles claiming that the virus can live on plastic or stainless steel surfaces for 30 hours, but will die within 30 minutes if it lands on a copper surface.

Sure makes me wonder how that one lawyer in New York gave it to 40 people in a week. He must have supernatural powers.

He was probably in a cramped space (such as a subway) and sneezed, coughed, or merely talked.

Arghhhh, that stinks! The one in the pic looks like a very old vintage gas mask.

It was from the 1990s. I had two of them. I think one was Israeli made, and the other was like Brazilian or something.

Both rotted merely from sitting in a display case. They were quite pliable when I removed them from the plastic bag. Both were new at the time.

I know just what you mean. I actually worked for a military surplus store back when I was a teenager. I think one of the main things they sold was tents and tarps. I remember my boss would load up a truck and haul merchandise hundreds of miles to other cities and sell it at auctions. He took me along because he was old, and he said I was a good worker.

I work a few days a week...in a Hosp.

I have an office..and do not have to wear a mask there.

But when I leave there..and see patients I have to wear a mask.
