PALM BEACH, Florida -- Radio legend Rush Limbaugh updated Americans on the status of his stage 4 lung cancer on Monday, indicating his latest scans for the deadly disease are not encouraging.
"The scans did show some progressions of cancer," Limbaugh said on his national broadcast. "Prior to that the scans had shown that we had rendered the cancers dormant ... we had stopped the growth."
Although the latest news is not showing improvement in his health, Limbaugh put the situation in perspective when looking back on his first treatment attempts when he was initially diagnosed this past winter...

Prayers for Rush, and for you too, buddy.
An apology is in order.
Hope he is looking into all possible help, including holistic.
Docs sometimes don't mention alternatives to traditional medicine.
Prayers continue.....
The evil Left will do to Rush what they did to President Trump, when he did not wear a mask. For President Trump: ‘Trump deserves to die because he did not wear a mask!” For Rush: “Limbaugh deserves to die of lung cancer because he smoked cigars!”
What we say: “Our prayers for the total recovery of Rush Limbaugh through the love of Jesus Christ our Lord!”
The difference: Love and hate.
That (evil outburst from savage) was Like the first Time I heard Howard stern. I was visiting from Europe and turned him on. He was screaming about a fellow radio guy who had just had a heart attack, wishing he would JUST DIE! it was the most vile stuff Id ever heard. That was the first and last time I listened to Howard stern live. The guy he was screaming about I later learned was Don Imus.
I began crying as Rush gave us the straight scoop. Remembering how much my Mother loved him, never missing a show, thinking she will be among the crowd of Angels waiting to greet him when he arrives on Heaven’s doorstep.
Stage 4 is the Exit Door, sooner rather than later.
Rush is God’s gift to America.
I wish him all the best and pray that he might be healed and given a little more time with us. After all, he’s talent on loan from God.
Requesting an extension, Oh,Lord, requesting an extension of Rush’s tour of duty.
Rush will never retire. He enjoys what he’s doing way too much.
The difference between Rush and Savage is that people actually care about Rush. He therefore feels like he owes them some information about his status. Rush is certainly not wallowing in his situation or seeking sympathy. Savage can KMFA!
AMen and Amen!
Nothing will send you into a tail spin like hearing from the doctor’s office, “We saw a shadow on your chest x-ray and need you to come in for a CT scan.”
But I didn't dislike him personally. Now, just from that one tweet, my sense of the man is that he is a jealous, petty, and hateful little man.
To me, the most telling words Rush said were when he shared that he has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That tells me he realizes the absolute seriousness of his situation, and is ready if the end is near. Lord willing, he may take a turn and have a few more years with us here. But he’s faced reality, and he’s ready for eternity. Praise Jesus for His mercy and grace.
Yes, the difference is, Michael Savage’s listeners are his audience; Rush Limbaugh’s listeners are his family.
Amen
If I was as good at ANYTHING as Rush it as his job, I'd probably do the same. :-)
Yes my dad got bladder cancer and the treatment just a couple of years ago would have been complete removal of the bladder.
Instead, he got immunotherapy treatment and some chemo that he sailed through, and he has now he has “NED.” (no evidence of disease).
I work in the field of cancer surveillance, and let me tell you, there are miracles happening. Years ago, when I started, a Stage IV lung cancer was a death sentence. Not any more. There are new treatments out there that really work. Don’t write Rush off yet.
MAYBE TOO LATER FOR THIS RESEARCH FOR RUSH LIMBAUGH, BUT MAYBE SOMEONE CAN FIND A WAY TO CONVEY IT TO HIM. RESEARCH INDICATES THAT TAKING INOSITOL CAN STOP LUNG CANCER.
TITLE: InositolTrisphosphate Reduces Alveolar Apoptosis and Pulmonary Edema in Neonatal Lung Injury
JOURNAL: American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology
DATE: February 2012
Clinical Relevance
In neonatal acute lung injury (nALI), pulmonary ceramide content is augmented because of increased acid sphingomyelinase activity. Ceramide induces alveolar epithelial apoptosis and edema. The suppression of acid sphingomyelinase by inositol-1,2,6-trisphosphate almost restores lung function, when given together with surfactant (surfactant fortification), in a porcine nALI model of hypoxemic respiratory failure.
Conclusion
In the present study, we introduced a new neonatal piglet model of triple-hit nALI with severe pulmonary inflammation, and demonstrated that the intermediate-term effects of surfactant are not sufficient to improve gas exchange, lung mechanics, and pulmonary edema when compared with no intervention. The admixture of inositol with surfactant neither amended lung function nor exerted any clinical effects on aSMase activity and the generation of ceramide, in contrast to the admixture of D-myo-inositol-1,2,6-trisphosphate (S + IP3) that effectively suppressed aSMase and caspase-8 activities. We observed significantly reduced alveolar epithelial apoptosis, a finding of critical importance for improved gas exchange, lung mechanics, and pulmonary edema. Despite limited knowledge about its dose and kinetics, IP3 seems to be effective in the alveolar space even 10 hours after its local administration, and demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects throughout this study period. Except for delayed creatinine clearance, no systemic side effects were identified. The present findings reinforce the notion that aSMase plays a key role in inflammatory nALI, and that the magnitude of aSMase suppression is paralleled by a reduction of epithelial apoptosis. We conclude that surfactant supplementation with IP3 is a promising pharmacologic option for the treatment of neonates with hypoxemic respiratory failure, and deserves clinical evaluation.
My sister had lung cancer. Treatments did not really help her.
