...We are being SO hosed.

That's a fact. And it was so used to hose President Trump big time. But the whole western world seems to be getting the same treatment. SMH

In Reno I have heard a case of covid is $90,000. But I have to independently verify that

A way for hospitals to earn income from the Federal government?

One does not TEST for Covid-19. The test everyone has been taking is for the corona virus itself.

A medical practitioner has to DIAGNOSE you with the DISEASE Covid-19, which is caused by contracting the virus.

But you may test positive for the virus and yet not have or ever get the disease, Covid19. They are not one in the same.

Somewhat similar to testing positive for HIV but never getting AIDS, the disease. Remember Magic Johnson? It may not be an exact analogy but is serves its purpose in explaining the difference.

These tests are notoriously unreliable and inaccurate. They have tolerance levels that can be calibrated. So a positive test could mean positive or it could be a false positive. We've seen many of these reported in the news.

If the tolerance level is set too low, you could test positive for the corona virus, when in fact, all you ever had was the common cold or flu.

If the tolerance level is set too high, you could test positive, when you may have the virus but no symptoms or are not sick or don't need hospitalization.

The other sticky wicket in the accuracy of these "new cases" statistics is that labs, doctors and hospitals are paid thousands of dollars in incentives for a diagnosis of Covid-19.

I have a friend in Arizona whose husband died last month from lung cancer. He was 79 and smoked and had diabetes. When he passed away, the hospital he died in, coded his cause of death as Covid-19 on the death certificate. Problem was that he had tested negative for the virus just a week or so before he passed.

We cannot rely on the statistics reported for "new cases" or "deaths" involving the corona virus or Covid-19. There is too much hanky pinky going on with manipulating the real numbers.

Everywhere I see it on the internet, that cases are up, I always post the same response as a starter: “Define ‘case’.”

The reason I posted this.

No one has critical thinking skills.

Every talking head, including the good ones, the conservatives, jump right INto whatever the apropos schpiel is about using the word case or cases.

They develop an entire train of thought around something that doesn't exist. !

I agree.

I used to use this analogy: They are testing people for teeth and every day the number of people found to have teeth in their mouth goes up.

That’s how useful I see it.

Whether you test positive...never mind if you are actually sick and/or can spread it.

In the context of COVID-19, “case” is a politically correct term imo.

More specifically, based on what I’ve heard, COVID-19 pays more to treat than other illnesses. So medical services are allegedly following the money by diagnosing COVID-19 for any illness if they think they can get away with it.

NYS includes probables in the case count, asymptomatics, repeat positives of the same patient as new cases, won’t reveal the Ct used in tests...

The stats are crap.

I’m confused by statistics showing how many tests have been given - do they refer to the number of different people who have been tested, or to the number of tests? Some people - such as pro athletes - are tested over and over, depending upon where they work. My son works in the Seattle Seahawks merchandise warehouse, and he has to be tested every week, and have his temperature taken every day when he enters the stadium.

It sure took a long time for us to finally start pulling this apart.

Join the club

Apparently there is no such thing as a "case"

Cases of covid are like vote tallies.

They are what we’re told they are because they told us. And any questioning or contesting gets us beaten and stomped into the ICU.

Who are all these people getting tested?

People come down with mild cold symptoms and race to the testing lines?

The lesson here is that our population has to work at getting immune systems healthier. Wearing a mask 24/7, not being outside getting sun and not exposing your body to microbes and bacterias that keep our immune systems active are deadlier than getting Chinese flu.

Well, here at the house we have two cases since last Tuesday.

One tested positive on the initial screen and the other negative. The longer test came back negative but in further telematic consultation with the dr was determined to have COVID based on the symptoms.

Both lost taste/smell.

Both had cough and headache.

Both have congestion.

One has recovered taste/smell but has some lingering congestion with no cough or headache.

The other retains the symptoms.

The bug was caught from a friend who spent the night for a birthday party and neglected to note one of the parents had COVID.

I may have had it but have not been tested. Had a slight fever last Wednesday around 100.1. Just felt off all that day. Hit the sack around 8:30 that night and slept for 11 hours. Fever was gone by the next day.

I have generally felt ok since then.

Taking several doses of vitamins D, C and Zinc.

A false-positive is a case.

Multiple false-positives is multiple cases.

Take it ten days in a row and get five false-positives and that’s five cases.//

Vote laundering
Case laundering

All commiecriminalrepubdem variations of a theme.
