SAN ANTONIO – For Alamo fans who’ve been waiting for this moment all their lives, officials will finally showcase a preview of the “Phil Collins Collection.”
The Alamo will display a preview of the collection, filled with artifacts donated by musician and Alamo enthusiast Phil Collins, starting on Texas Independence Day on Tuesday. The temporary exhibit, which includes a brass cannon used by the Mexican Army during the battle, will be on display until April 25.
“We are beyond excited to finally share some of the amazing artifacts Mr. Collins so generously donated,” Kristi Miller Nichols, director of Archaeology, Collections, and Historical Research at the Alamo, said in a news release.

The rocker has created a huge model railway in his home in Los Angeles, complete with 5ft tall skyscrapers.

Ahh More Fool Me!
Ironic that an Englishman is a fan of Texas (and American) independence. How about we deport the phony Irishman from the Whitehouse back to his roots to compensate.
“The stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.”
If you are going to be a ‘collector’ of something, it’s good that very few others are collectors of that thing...................
The Alamo to launch temporary preview of ‘Phil Collins Collection’ on Texas Independence Day; After Tuesday, it will be available for guests who purchase an audio tour for $7 a person. - WE WERE PROMISED THAT THERE WOULD NEVER BE A CHARGE TO SEE THE ALAMO. THANK YOU PEE BUSH!!! Don’t move the Cenotaph. Move Pee Bush...
Texas Ping.
If I had Rod Stewart’s means, I’d probably have a model railroad like that. In the meantime I have an N-scale shelf layout under construction (track is laid, trains are running, still need scenery and structures).
“They’re brining the stolen bicycle out of the basement?”
Brining? I don’t think anyone really wants to see Pee Wee’s pickle.
He was playing with Brand X at the same time he was in Genesis. They weren't exactly a progressive band, more fusiony. He really cut loose on the drums with them, though.
Example here:
Malaga Virgen (1977)
I saw a story recently about Rod Stewart. He has a massive model train setup. Several thousand square feet.
This will be awesome!
I went to a party of this British TV producer near Malibu 2 years ago and I can confidently say he has one of the biggest collection of old western guns ever collected. More than 100. It was unreal. Surrounded by posters of John Wayne and Gary cooper.
I asked him why he got into collecting old American western stuff and he told me when he was a lad’ in London all he wanted to watch were cowboy movies. Apparently his dad went to Hollywood back in the 60’s and worked with John Wayne..

Somewhere back in time there was a thread here at FR about Phil Collins buying an old building close to the Alamo just so he could excavate inside the foundation where he found many Alamo artifacts.
I heard that Santana’s army sang “it no fun being an illegal alien...” as they marched on the Alamo
