Lava Destroyed the Dike! Huge Lava Eruption in Iceland. Fagradalsfjall Volcano Eruption / May 22, 2021. Lava from Geldingadalir has broken through the dike wall and is pouring down into the valley below.

Icelanders spent a week or more building a dam to try and contain the lava to keep it from flowing to the sea and cutting off the main road along the coast and the infrastructure along it.
It was a vain attempt. She's headed to the ocean now.
