After seeing the raft of posts, I believe that the server was either mirrored or hijacked.
I just now recalled that about an hour or so ago my screen header said 'sign in'. I hit refresh a couple of times and didn't pay any attention to it.
I now believe that those who signed in exposed their accounts.
Oh, ever since the stolen election I have. I probably should avoid a few words, even with asterisks. I’ll try to do better going forward. I just saw this coming in the Spring of 2020, but all it did was anger many here when I stated it.
The first one I saw was something about “John Glizzy”. Didn’t click the link but read the thread. It said it was posted by BeauBo but it wasn’t and the posts were long, obscene, run-on, nonsense. After that the board exploded with spam.

I don’t think FR is that easy to hack. It was hacked years ago and the software was rewritten.

The software was rewritten sounds like it was rewritten from scratch. I would guess some parts were modified to prevent hacking.

Jim and John Robinson wrote the original software and the upgrade.
I’m not sure if it’s even posted anywhere but I kind of got the feeling over the years that blogs are supposed to be posted in it’s entirety, instead of an exerpt like a newspaper article. So people can read the whole blog without going to an actual website that may be filled with ads. Because FReepers are naturally ad-adverse and not all blogs are secure. But if people like the blog they can always go to that website on their own and check it out. If that makes sense?
