Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a good evening. This is, I think, the tenth edition of the annual thread dedicated to those among us who, for whatever reason, find ourselves solo on the night before Christmas.
Here in my cozy habitat, it's just me, my faithful hound and, a little later, Ralphie Parker and then George Bailey will make his yearly appearance.
The presents are wrapped and under the tree. After dinner, I'll imbibe a latte and then maybe a little vino.
Anyone else solo tonight?
I read that chapter to my sons last night.
It looks like the time is close. But then again, it’s has looked so in the past. Did you know Congress once adjourned because part two was imminent and there was no more reason for a US government?
I would have been alone but the wife tested positive for covid so we’re “all in this together” for 14 days. She’s planning on leaving me which got postponed due to the current tenant in the trailer she’ll be renting, having not moved out yet and now further postponed due to covid. Else she and the kids 18/19, would have been spending Christmas at her friend’s house with her friend’s family.
I have a feeling her future landlord couldn’t bring herself to kick the guy out right before Christmas but yeah, the wife was going to leave me right before Christmas.
I set up an appointment for Monoclonal Antibody Infusion for her and brought her there. I’m not eligible but she was. I still consider it my duty to take care of my family and desire to. I’ve got my horse paste and vitamins. Kids are unaffected as of yet and both are thin with no health issues.
Wife does the Christmas shopping but I’ve yet to see any presents so I’m guessing they’re at her friend’s house.
She’s a really good friend and was even kind enough to print out DIY divorce papers[spit]. Not sure what kind of happily married person prints divorce papers for another married person.
I told the wife I can accept separation for now but no more aka not signing divorce papers. She may end up changing her mind after playing single parent for a while. Our autistic son, who relates to me more than anyone, is undecided and says he’d like the option of bouncing back and forth between us. Daughter could care less about me but that’s the way it is sometimes. Some females tend to not appreciate dear ole dad until they get older.
Praying for y’all, that this is a divine intervention & changes the trajectory of your lives for the better. He works His will in mysterious ways. May God bless each & everyone of you!

Ben Hur it’s my absolute most favorite film of all time.
It is also the very best “Jesus movie” ever, IMO.
NOT coincidentally, it arose from a book entitled “Ben Hur: A Tale of The Christ.”
It’s a better Easter film than a Christmas one, but that first series does meet the need of this hour.

I’m not alone. My black lab Blackjack is with me.
I’m working and can’t get away to see family this Christmas but that’s OK. I have a few friends here who are in the same boat. We’ll meet up with our furry friends at the local dog park and have a fun party on Christmas Day.

I’ll pray that everything will work out and that she’ll come to her senses. I can imagine how tough this is for you.
And, yes, girls that age usually go through that stage and come to realize how great dad is when they’ve been on their own for a while.

I have one brother who is extremely liberal and very belligerent about it. He will resort to screaming obscenities with spit spraying from his mouth just to hear a differing opinion. I have another brother who takes offense easily, and is prone to violence. Thanksgiving and Christmas meals often ended very poorly. We just quit having them.
It seems dysfunctional families are common these days.
I’m glad the “media” thinks that Let’s Go, Brandon is doing a wonderful job closing down the Chinese flu. Those hospital workers aren’t paid enough. My Daughter - in -law has worked in the Covid ICU since the democrats started this Chinese dempanic. I think it’s catching up with her and putting a lot of strain on her. She’s seen a lot.
