Kirk beams down to the planet Gideon and appears to find himself trapped on a deserted Enterprise. Spock on the real Enterprise must use his diplomatic skills to deal with the uncooperative inhabitants of Gideon and find the Captain.
This episode is very cuurent, even though it was made over 50 years ago. and eerie.
It's almost like today and the germanic(swiss) leader of Gideon, sounds like that Klaus something of the great reset.
“Kobayashi Maru”
Me. Once I got into watching Garak on DS9, TOS seems pretty dated and tame

TOS= “The Old Show,” “Top of Ship?” I’m not sure what it means.

A more up-to-date episode would be the Power behind the blithering idiot... John Gill Leader of Star Trek planet Ekos. Episode "Patterns of Force".
Well Kirk bops the leaders daughter and she becomes sick, but Spock and McCoy save the day, when the daughter is cured.
And it was produced over 50 years ago.

I tried to watch the first one because I like Patrick Stewart.
He turned out to be a cat cuddling, flute playing nancy boy who was SO worried about not offending anyone or anything that it gagged me.
Kirk just beamed his bad self on down, took control and said “Screw the prime directive!” [and that hot green chick over there, too]
/Shatner owns Dobermans. Game over.

The lack of manhood was a real turn off.
Plus the French sounding name Pickahhhhdddd….
Yuck.
Then the trying to play off with the Spock replacement.
TOS was incredibly innovative and almost prophetic. The rest were just one upmanship, IMO.
We’re also somewhere between “The Squire of Gothos” and “Who Mourns for Adonais”.
In another couple years, we’ll be doing “The Omega Glory” or “Bread and Circuses”.
/there are wolves in the fold...
TOS is so full of “prophecy” it’s uncanny.
Sadly, Picard [Picardy] is a French name [okay, stop laughing now] which derived from the fierce Norman pikesmen who went once went bravely into battle.
Frickin’ Data.
LOL
Just no.
*pardon the extra “went”
