Decoding Elon Musk’s placing of his Twitter bid ‘on hold’

When Elon Musk announced his $44 billion takeover bid to Twitter, it caused celebrations and meltdowns in equal measure.

Conservatives and libertarians, who have been the recipients of step-motherly treatment on Twitter owing to its overwhelming liberal bias, hoped Musk would liberate the platform into a haven for free speech.

Liberals feared losing control over a primary tool of communication and manipulation. Hence, Twitter employees staged walkouts. MSNBC said that Musk’s takeover would have 'massive, life and globe-altering consequences'.

There are a few possible explanations behind Musk’s sudden move.

Perhaps Musk realizes that his initial bid was too high and is attempting to compel Twitter to return to the negotiating table in order to lower the price. Legal experts say Twitter’s board would risk being sued if it agreed to a lower price without serious justification.

Another possibility is that Musk is looking for a way out.

It must be remembered that the stock of Tesla plummeted by 7% when Musk announced his Twitter takeover. Perhaps Tesla's Board of Directors was not pleased that Musk plans to finance his Twitter takeover by borrowing against the value of his holdings in Tesla. Perhaps the Tesla Board thinks that Musk would become a divisive figure that hurts the Tesla brand if he took over Twitter. Maybe they pressured Musk to withdraw?

Musk experienced what it feels like to be in the eye of the storm since his take-over announcement in April. For a month, some of the worst epithets known were conferred upon Musk. Musk understands that as an investor and a businessman getting along with people of all ideological and political persuasions is essential.

Musk has seen how President Trump has been baselessly subjected to legal scrutiny and government investigations for merely challenging the status quo.

I don’t use twitter and probably won’t in the future. But it is great watching the reaction of the left.

The 3rd reason is that he NEVER intended to buy it but to expose it

The globalist cabal has squeezed him into being concerned about his own health.

Someone made him an offer he could not refuse.

Twitter lost $221 million in 2021. Twitter also revealed last month that it had suffered a first-quarter loss and that it has ‘accidentally overstated’ its number of users since 2019.

"Accidentally overstated" it's number of users! Sure it did!

That should be enough to claim that the Twitter Board of Directors made a fraudulent report on the value of Twitter.

Is that enough to force a renegotiation for a lower price?

Perhaps Mr. Musk is just bored and entertaining himself by playing games that only ultra billionaires can play. We likely err by assigning a political motive to Mr. Musk’s gamesmanship. The chase is more exciting than the conquest.

Either way Twitter has now been exposed as the fraud it is, with the overwhelming fake accounts. Just another deceptive way to push the radical left-wing agenda.

The Biden FAA has recently been hamstringing Musk’s SpaceX over approval for launching Starship...environmental impact or some other BS...

The government has long and numerous tentacles to thwart the Musks of the world...

Sleepy may have signaled...Ok man, choose Free Speech or Mars...?

>>Perhaps Mr. Musk is just bored and entertaining himself by playing games that only ultra billionaires can play<<

The EPA has stalled his SpaceX Starship plans for months, slow-rolling approvals and permits.

I could see him getting himself a new game to play. Being a bit Aspergers myself, you do NOT want someone like Musk getting bored. He WILL find a way to amuse himself.

Meanwhile back at SpaceX, the StarShip which was on a 3-4 launch per year schedule before this year, has not launched since May 5, 2021.

This state of affairs is mainly due to FAA and EPA failing to give SpaceX the needed launch permits, the first of which was due in early February this year.

The way things seem to be adding up, StarShip is dead. At least until Bezo’s Blue Horizons and NASA catch up - years or decades from now.

As long as SpaceX stays LEO, all is well. But, going beyond LEO is problematic and an existential political threat to the current government, which likely sees StarShip as an effect of the hated MAGA President and must be stopped at all costs.

Remember, Fraud related to contracts (purchase or otherwise) can vitiate a contract totally.

If Twitter grossly understated the number of real accounts in the purchase agreement(I suspect Twitter did), then the contract is based upon a lie and will not be enforced by the court.

“Is that enough to force a renegotiation for a lower price? “

If proven it is enough to vitiate the entire contract. The court would not enforce the contract.

“To be fair, fighting fake accounts and making its algorithms open source has been a cornerstone of Musk’s Twitter bid. Maybe this isn’t a delay tactic, but Musk is uncovering relevant data as he and his representatives do their due diligence.

This question will be resolved in time.”

Whether Musk could walk away is probably a matter for the courts to decide.

To be fair, fighting fake accounts and making its algorithms open source has been a cornerstone of Musk’s Twitter bid. Maybe this isn’t a delay tactic, but Musk is uncovering relevant data as he and his representatives do their due diligence. The courts?

WTF?

Twatter's board and Musk have already agreed on a billion dollar charge, what the hell does the court have to do with that agreement?

The board is quaking in their boots over false claims of real vs bot accounts, not just from Musk but from their investors and advertisers, that haven't kicked in real dollars for fake accounts.

If there is any court activity, it will be the lawyers chasing the boards members for fraud.

Lib investors only like stuffing the bot box when they are stuffing votes.

Musk is trashing twitter so he can “raise it from the ashes” - and making sure he doesn’t purchase a LOT of lawsuit liabilities for the huge robberies the current crew have committed via fake users...
