Everyone should remember that the police have no duty to protect them.
(The real outrage is that the protectors—the “good guys with guns”—failed to protect.)
THIS
The left has institutionalized the “stand-down order” across the nation. From the cop on the beat to the courthouse.
No cop wants to be involved in the next politicized “George Floyd” event. But the courts have ruled that they have no duty to protect any individual.
The last 5 paragraphs sum things up.
This incident will completely sever the last shred of trust between citizens and police. And that is a very, very bad thing.

A society without law enforcement is a chaotic society. That said, the police are more times than not AFTER the fact.
We are responsible for our own safety.
> Everyone should remember that the police have no duty to protect them. <
And evidently the Uvalde police have no duties at all. How they could just stand outside in the hallway and listen to children die, that is simply beyond my comprehension.
There is a more broad lesson in this ... don’t look to the government to solve ANYTHING. Not just there is no duty to protect from violence, there is no duty to look out for your social or financial or diet or mental well being. Government is a destructive force, like fire. Give it fuel, it will consume it.
There’s nothing bad about a society where the citizens don’t trust the police. In fact, this country was built by men who had no confidence in government institutions.
Given a lemon, make lemonade. Communities can get by, at least the immediate needs, without police. The poilice can be the makers of official record for the eventual court proceedings.
It's a bad thing that our government and our press lie to us, too. But people adapt to reality once they sense it (reality).
I get that cops don't want to be blamed or charged with a crime, but I don't think the George Floyd syndrome applies to a mass shooter killing little kids.
Although the police have no duty to protect an individual, any sworn officer who is at the scene where there is gunfire heard in a schoolhouse is expected to run to that scene & act immediately. Any officer not wanting to do that should look for another career field.
Police & firemen still ran into the WTC on 9/11 & up the stairs even after seeing the first building collapse. That’s the example they should follow.
If this incident taught us one thing…it’s how important that we(“the militia”) are to the maintenance of order in a free society. I for one will be armed every time I step out the door.
Not only do I not trust the police, any police, I also see them as the enemy as they proved when they actively stopped parents from saving thier children by cuffing and tazering them.
Personally, police forever severed that shred of trust/respect during the Antifa/BLM summer of love riots where they “Stood Down” and let animals run free. Your personal protection is your responsibility.
Yep....only there to enforce the law, and it doesn’t have to be to prevent a crime. USSC already decided that..
“We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful.” —C.S. Lewis
Present company excluded (Hopefully).
More Americans will come around to the view that the State is an antagonist.Pretty close to 100% of so-called public servants speak and think in terms of "us" and "them."
Under the law, they are treated as superior, part of the king's system.
That sort of alignment is natural in societies. Small tribes have leaders and elders with the power to boss.
My point, at any rate, is that viewing the government as an adversary or antagonist isn't necessarily a bad thing. I give respect to my opponents, and generally follow what I'm told. But when my antagonist tells me it is illegal to attend church, well, this creates a real dilemma. You can't attempt to rescue your child - same dilemma in spades.
Balance won't be restored by following orders. The "law and order" control freak monopolists have taken miles already. Policing is everybody's responsibility.
