Youngkin and DeSantis deliver on educational reform

Parents and freedom-loving Americans are standing up and fighting against the evil that has consumed American education.

A year ago, Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin shook the political landscape when he became Virginia’s first Republican to win a statewide office in twelve years. Governor Youngkin ran on education issues and benefited from his opponent’s “faux pas” publicly suggesting parents should have no say in their children’s curriculum. Not only did he win his election -- he delivered on his campaign promises. Youngkin issued an executive order banning Critical Race Theory and his administration rescinded accommodations for transgender students whereby schools are prohibited from concealing information about a student from the student’s parent, including information related to gender. For some of us, it seems outrageous that this guidance is necessary, but not in today’s government schools -- it is far more common than most understand for teachers to hide a child’s transitioning to a non-biological gender.

The midterm elections paralleled and superseded the Virginia governor’s race with record support for Governor Ron DeSantis who delivered on his word to put parents in charge of their children’s education. From refusing school shutdowns and masking mandates to ending Marxist critical theories and prohibiting gender identity and sexual orientation being taught to very young children -- Governor DeSantis has been right on every educational front. His popularity spilled over into other midterm races where he endorsed winning candidates, resulting in 24 of the 30 candidates backed by the governor being elected. Six people supported by DeSantis will soon be new school board members

There is more good news from Florida. According to the Child & Parental Rights Campaign, on Friday, November 4, 2022, “the Florida Board of Medicine voted to prohibit all puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for minors to facilitate ‘gender transition.’”

Taking the school boards from the left is a good start. Next needs to get rid of the indoctrination in the university education departments.

Keeping his powder dry really doesn’t seem to be one of Trumps strong suits does it.

There’s a lot to be said for discretion.

“Lyin’ Ted” “little marco”......I was never comfortable with that. I think it caught people by surprise last time.

I’m afraid it’s not gonna be received very well this time around........to Trumps own political detriment.

Youngkin and DeSantis are Trump without the mouth.

Not even close. But you are a human without a spine.

Another thing. I don’t know that much about Youngkin, but DeSantis also worked hard and smart to clean up the electoral fraud in his state and build an organization to register Republicans to vote year-round and then get out the vote. No matter how good the candidate, he can’t do anything unless he or she actually gets elected.

I also like the way DeSantis just quietly does stuff, no drama, and then the media screams and hollers about it, but he’s already quietly moved on to the next thing they’ll scream about. They can’t keep up, lol. It seems effective.

> No matter how good the candidate, he can’t do anything unless he or she actually gets elected. <

Well said. It’s kinda like a flow chart, where the first question is “Does the candidate have a strong chance of being elected?” If the answer is no, goto “Pick another candidate.”

Such methodology might give us a weak, RINO candidate, which of course would be a bad thing. But is that worse than having, say, a radical socialist Democrat in the office? Each person will have to make his own decision on that.

It is a shame that we are faced with such unpleasant choices. But that’s where a biased media, ballot harvesting, etc. have brought us. Only another Ronald Reagan can right this. And I see see no Reagan present as of now.

The alert has pretty much taken control of the country and some are worried about college professors.

What were two battle ground states, Michigan and Pennsylvania, are now solid Democrat. Never to be one by a Republican.

Nevada and Arizona are lost. And Warnock will more than likely win the runoff.

Some on FR are trying to frame 2024 as a choice between Trump and a RINO, but I don’t know that’s the case. Trump-or-nobody types have been insinuating DeSantis is a RINO, but he certainly has not acted that way. Those who claim he’s been in secret meetings with Ryan & Co. can’t seem to provide any links to back up their assertions. DeSantis has been disciplined, and showed he had the political skills to both accomplish electoral reform and build the “political machine” to get the vote out that the Dems whined about. This is what has to be done to win, especially these days. In a blue states where the electoral system can’t be reformed right away, then we need to beat the Dems at their own game of ballot harvesting (didn’t a Republican out West do that and win?).

I’m not stuck on DeSantis, just think he shows the way, how it can be done.

Two years is a long time. I think it’s wrong to cast aspersions on DeSantis through false accusations and starting rumors — he may be the best the person to carry forward the MAGA movement that Reagan started and Trump rekindled.

Trump is a mortal man. Right now, he’s healthy, but things happen to people, especially as we get older. Strokes, heart trouble, etc. The OnlyTrumpers need to keep that in mind. We shouldn’t be getting too hung up on DeSantis, either. He may not run at all, or something might come up to preclude his running (like his wife’s cancer returning). We can’t see the future, so let’s keep our eyes out, evaluating possible candidates as honestly as we can and then work toward getting the best one elected.

We need to do our parts, too. We need to work for electoral reform. Bug those in our state legislatures from now on, volunteer to be poll watchers and help get out the vote when the time comes. I’ve been bugging my state reps and congresscritters about electoral reform for the past two years. Maybe others were as well, because at least we got paper ballots this time around.

I realize Trump’s losing support is really hard on you Q followers, but it seems to have really sent you. Trashing DeSantis isn’t productive, though.

What about the MAGA movement? It’s not all about one mortal man. See my #16. Do you care more about the movement and the country, or is it really All About Trump with you?

He is the best weapon in the MAGA arsenal. We can't spare him.

DeSantis is not MAGA. He as never used the term in public as far as I know. If you can't say MAGA then you aren't MAGA.

Actions count for more than words with me, but if you’re hung up on words, so be it.

What are you going to do if Trump develops a health problem that prevents his running? Or drops dead? Or continues to make so many unforced errors he can’t even win the primary? What then? Give up on the MAGA movement altogether? That does not seem like true loyalty to me.
