Talk about good Genes.
Hollywood legend Gene Hackman proved he’s still in tip-top shape as he performed yard work at his ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Sunday.
The “Unforgiven” actor — who celebrated his 93rd birthday in January — looked fit and healthy as he brandished a shovel at his private estate.
Earlier in the day, the two-time Oscar winner was spotted fueling up for physical labor at a local Wendy’s, where he ordered a meal at the drive-thru.
Hungry Hackman chowed down on his chicken sandwich in the fast food franchise’s parking lot before pumping gas at a nearby station.
It was a rare sighting of the reclusive and retired star, who was last seen on-screen in the 2004 comedy “Welcome to Mooseport.”

“Was it your Dad’s best buddy who died from the COVID? Ten days later — yikes, how sad.”
No, my Dad died from getting Covid from his best buddy. His buddy was younger, healthier and survived.
Oh, gosh, that’s extra horrible. SO sorry to hear that.
But the greatest line of all?
In Unforgiven.
Strawberry Alice : You just kicked the shit out of an innocent man.
Little Bill Daggett : Innocent? Innocent of what?
Jeez, I love that line.
It’s good to know he is still active at 93. We should all be lucky enough to live so long and be that healthy. However, I would NEVER have known that was Gene Hackman! :^)
I was in Junior High School at the time and watched that movie three times. I have to say it was all due to watching that girl in the hot pants.
Nope, It's Popeye Doyle of The French Connection fame.
I think most of my fellow freeps will recognize both.
Why not leave the guy alone?
Such disrespect… no words… dusgusting.
..and disgusting too!
Gene is doing lots better than the much younger Bruce Willis.
And he certainly didn’t get by on his looks.
The monster (Peter Boyle) gets burned several times by the blind priest (Gene Hackman).

It is Clint that taught us......... Don’t let he old man in
Toby Keith wrote a song in honor of that advice
My fave Gene Hackman films are Night Moves and Prime Cut, the latter of which also has a great performance by Lee Marvin.
John C would have been Mr. Meryl Streep had he not succumbed to the big C - so sad to watch the Deer Hunter knowing he was dying.
I just recently read how Jackie Gleason nearly wrested away The French Connection from Hackman, as Friedkin did not want Gene.
Gene was the third choice, after Jackie Gleason (who either wanted too much money or had become considered box office poison after a series of flops, depending on who you hear from). Second choice was Peter Boyle who turned it down.
Can’t ever remember hearing that song before. Thanks for posting it.
Well, don’t leave out Melanie Griffith’s performance in Night Moves ...
