I don’t know, I always thought Parler was stupid, but if it was bought it was probably to give the FBI/CIA “former” employees at Twitter a place to go.

It’s kinda there in the press release, the name will be retained and hosted on a new system, the app will be relaunched, and our AI overlords will monitor all speech. They will determine the marginalized communities they’ll serve at a later date (but virtually guarantee that ‘US conservative’ isn’t one of them.)
