A possible intriguing scenario came to my mind a few days ago. What if the DOJ never had any intention of prosecuting Trump for possession of these 'classified' documents at all -- but were looking to prosecute him for failing to protect them AFTER they had been "re-classified" in early 2021?
It would have put him in a dilemma where he could be prosecuted for mishandling classified materials simply by turning them over to the FBI/DOJ.
This would explain the reports that the FBI didn't find what they were looking for when they searched Mar-a-Lago. By keeping them away from FBI dopes who weren't authorized to see them, he may have been protecting himself from prosecution.
The only thing stopping him is the vote counters. These guys are stooges who wont poach too many Trump voters.
