Deep in the hills of Appalachia is a land of beauty laced with heavy dr*g abuse. In some of these communities up to 50% of the 20-40 year olds are addicted to hard dr*gs creating a generation of children being raised by grandparents. Join me and the locals as we travel into the hills of Eastern Kentucky to show you the gravity of this situation, and also introduce you to the people who are creating positive ways out.

Rudy Giuliani and Marsha Blackman were both major whores for the OxyContin pushers at Purdue Pharma. Even Rush was popping pills. The whole sordid opioid saga is one of the biggest disgraces on the American political scene and that is saying alot.

What, we can’t say DRUGS now?

My first thought as well, yet the asterisk is used in the YouTube video title.

This type of masking is growing more common in efforts to circumvent the risks of censorship and demonetization by Big Tech.

Sadly, a lot of people in Appalachia have things in common with blacks in the city ghettos:
1) Drug use.
2) Education is not considered important.
3) Language deficiencies make it difficult to break out and achieve among people whose language skills are much higher.
4) Low self-esteem.
5) Crime - too much looking for a fast buck instead of looking for a steady job.
6) No sense/care about making something look nice. Settle for a public building with poor signage and no landscaping whatsoever. Little to no effort put into making things look nice.

It’s more of an issue with endodgeny than actual incest. It’s common in isolated areas areas. When there’s a small population with few new people moving in, eventually you get several family groups that are connected several ways. It still can result in undesirable traits getting passed down that otherwise wouldn’t be expressed. Think the blue people of Kentucky. There’s many communities that experience endodgeny, not just Appalachia. Some are isolated geographically, like PEI in Canada, or socially, like the Ashkenazi

“Somerset is about an hour south of Lexington, but it might as well be a different country. (I have friends in Cynthiana north of Lexington, very small town and not this kind of drug scene as I can perceive.)”

Lexington is full of hillbillys who crawled out of eastern Kentucky and look down their nose at their friends and family. I’m from Martin, KY. I have a child hood friend who never left that town and died at 40, in his bed, of cirrhosis. A lot of other friends died of OD. It’s been bad for a long time.

True enough, but that was the case going back centuries. Elizabethan poets called country folk “clowns” in their plays, and made fun of their poor command of the languages spoken in England at that time, Latin, Norman French, the hybrid that came to be known as English, and so it went on down to Ma and Pa Kettle, the Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres, not to mention Pete’s Dragon.

This documentary, however, is not like that. It has authentic people speaking the dialects of Kentucky and West Virginia, reformed junkies, a seasoned sheriff, living their lives, telling about what drugs did to them and their families, and what it meant to get free of it, friends and family who are still hooked or even died in that life.

The hoity toities will always look down on the poor and the rural folks, basically because they are stupid, and being prejudiced against blacks is now out, so they have to direct their malice somewhere else.

But this fellow is doing what he can to battle that prejudice with truth. He’s done a whole series of documentaries along this line. Recently saw a really good feature film, Where the Crawdad Sings, which showed the prejudice of well off town folk in South Carolina against a poor girl living in the marshes. Really well done murder mystery.

Blacks have seen better days, too, before liberals decided to “help” them.
