American coal is rebounding! Yay. Enough of Unicorn Farts.
1. Why is Hunter on the cover? Did Dad throw him out of the White House? Is he on the lam deep underground to avoid paying child support?
2. If he is working deep underground, how will China, Moscow, Ukraine, et al send him bribes>
3. Did Hunter Learn to Code? Now that MS, Facebook, Amazon, LinkedIn, Google, et al have laid off a quarter million workers, is Hunter RE-Learning how to Mine Coal?
4. Do we have no child labor laws? She looks mighty young to be mining. Or is she mining and cleaning cobalt ore in the Congo to support the Great EV Fix to Non-Problems?
The guy only looks like Hunter. He’s sweating because he knows the US is not allowing use of coal anymore so he’s out of a job.
The girl is his daughter, wearing Daddy’s safety helmet, because Daddy no longer needs it.
Stick every politician pushing “renewables” in the bin before the coal is lit.

US coal production peaked in 2008, when Obama was elected. It has been gradually declining most years since, by his design. Still a major contributor to the energy grid however, and a significant export item.

We get LOTS of 15,000 ton coal trains running through North Idaho all headed from Wyoming to the coal ports on the west coast (mainly Tacoma, I think). It really hurts to see all that US coal going to China.
Any “resurgence” comes too late for the small mine operators on my area of S.E. Ohio. Their mines are closed, the grounds have been “remediated”, the trucks and other heavy equipment lie rusting in boneyards, and the workers will never get their jobs back. Only bright spot from my perspective is that District 6 is now MAGA country, where it was once solid blue.
...that’s where nation wealth comes from, the conversion of natural resources into finished-goods. Selling our coal to China is a winner!

Many coal plants were prematurely permanently shut, because they were coal plants. It is very expensive and economically stupid to shut a functioning plant for religious reasons. Climate change is a religion.
They are also running east through Kearney NE. I watch them on Virtual Rail Fan.
The biased and mentally retarded board of directors at the interior Alaska cooperative - GVEA are hell bent on shutting down our largest coal plant.
Selling your raw natural resources (instead of converting them to finished products that you sell) is the very definition of “colony.”
For example, converting coal, coke, iron ore, and limestone into steel is a much better value-added process than selling the raw materials.

Lots of Boards are re-considering their decision to shutter coal and nuke plants. FINALLY!!
Everybody on FR and all those others with two functioning brain cells KNEW this would happen. I can’t believe those utility BODs actually thought this stupid (and totally needless) conversion to “green” would work. Those guys, of all people, should know that you cannot get utility scale “green” to work reliably 24x7 to power a massive industrial economy.
