Officials say a murder victim managed to shoot his killer before dying, and, after the murderer fled, a passerby took the victim’s gun, hunted down the killer, and shot some more. It all happened last Friday afternoon in the 7400 block of South Euclid, according to Chicago police and prosecutors. The entire story is over at the CWB blog and it's a doozy.
At reporting time, they still haven't caught the passerby....and one may be forgiven for hoping they never do.

A passerby? I’m just guessing here, but I’m pretty sure the “passerby” was more like a “standing with” the victim, because they’re likely in the same gang or family. I’d also guess that no one involved was white. Another guess is that none of the guns involved were owned or used legally. But it will all be the fault of the police, Republicans, food deserts, lack of opportunities, and most of all, white people. I’m gonna throw out one more guess and say that the dead guy was an aspiring rapper or some other more noble career that we all know he’d never pursue if he lived. Does the city count this as one, two or three shootings?

This reminds me of the mma fighter John Jones who had a match scheduled, and before the match was in a park getting a workout and saw a woman get assaulted and robbed. Jones then took off after the maggot and talked and held him till cops got there, then he rushed to his match, and won that too.
Not a big fan of Jones, but the fella could fight, and did the right thing for the woman. So kudos to him.

A while back a gang war left dead/wounded... The States Attorney declared it “Mutual Combat”, and no charges were pressed.
The original victim was named Delegance Crawl - I’m guessing high school might have been something of an ordeal for him, unless he developed a particularly thick skin.

Wonder if the mutual includes cops vs bad guys.
