Long threads about evolution.

Posted on 03/22/2024 8:32:09 AM PDT by bluescape

Does anyone remember those long threads about evolution a few years ago?

There was one poster that was always jumping on to argue, I think in favor of it. Can't remember their name or I could look some up.

If you could post link to one I'd like to read some.

There was no theistic evolution.

Yes i know- The argument that there was ‘death before the fall’ pointing out that animals and the people ate live things is also easily refuted by pointing out that the death spoken of after the fall was Nephesh Death, or Soul death, not cellular death

I didn’t mention theistic evolution. I said abiogenesis. I don’t subscribe to this view, but you can actually have a mediated creation that was immediate.

Anyway, mediated creation is in Augustine. 400s. You would do well to read what he had to say on it.

This is a search result list of posts that have evolution in it

Best I can provide since you really provide sparse information to search on.

creatures and plants were all created immediately, fully formed

Simple question. How?

This repeated thread makes it look like an attempt to stir things up, with the goal of dividing posters on this website.

Remember, divide and conquer is the primary strategy of the lying communists.

How? Um- Omnipotence plays a large role- infact the only role

From the class of ‘98? Dunno, but seems like an honest question to me.

Not that I don’t share your wariness about Commies.

No, it doesn’t seem honest.

The class of 98 is full of infiltrators.

When you post this same thread twice within a matter of months, there seems to be an under-lying agenda.

Sure, but it doesn’t answer the question. HOW did God use His omnipotence? Through the natural laws He already put into the universe, or through miracles outside nature?

for the reasons posted- it was supernatural- I’m not goign to get into a long discussion about htis issue- if you beleive otherwise, fine- I believe that life could not be sustained naturally had ‘nature’ taken it’s course naturally- ie no grass for long periods- animals starve to death, man starves to death because no food available until trees matured enough to bear fruit-

Again, if you believe otherwise, then fine=- and just state one last thing- if everything evolved, then there woudl be massive generations of loss of Nephesh life- but bible states Nephesh life didn’t die until after the fall when all life became subject to the curse of death-

Augustine addresses those matters in his “On the Literal Interpretation of Genesis”—I wish I could provide references but my copy got ruined. I believe he discussed how the sharp teeth of a lion were clearly built for eating flesh, and used that as an argument for animal death before the fall. That’s what I remember, anyway.

To my thinking, God had the Garden prepared before He placed Adam into it. So everything was perfect there—but not necessarily in the rest of the earth...hence the command to humanity to “subdue” it.

I honestly didn’t search well enough to find that other thread. I just wanted to view the old thread and the arguments there. An earlier thread had 65,000 posts and it reminded me of the old evolution posts. Not that I mind a stir up, especially here on FR where real discussion is separated from trolling by the numerous references our members have at a moments notice.

Called Crevo.

There were a lot of posters like you describe. Some guy claimed he was a right wing professor, some guy coyoteman or something.

I can’t remember. It’s like 20 years ago.

One might as well ask how THE BIG BANG occurred.

Or how the PRE-CAMBRIAN EXPLOSION occurred.

How about.... how were the pyramids built ?

Here’s a link to a FReeper named Coyoteman who was an evo.

https://freerepublic.com/tag/by:coyoteman/index?brevity=full;tab=comments

It’ll take you to many evo threads and there you will find other names to follow.

Ok. As long as you’re not a phony poster working for the deep state cabal to undermine MAGA and destroy our country.

These kinds of activists are suffering from:

1. Not understanding the cause of their own beliefs or motives
2. Mental manipulation by a malevolent crime syndicate
3. A future of betrayal, despair and worse

Augustine’s Bible included a poor translation of Genesis into Latin

Jerome’s Latin Vulgate cleared that up.

You’d do well to look into that.

Abiogenesis.

No evidence there.

Plus the math doesn’t work out even over the supposed 4 billion year age of the earth.

In other news: Enjoying seeing received cosmology slowly imploding in the wake of contravening data and images from NASA’s James Webb space telescope.
