Yes.

Putin has been known to lie on very rare occasions.

We will never know the truth about what happened.

What was the strategic purpose of this attack?

It doesn’t help win the war.

In other news the Russians are also invading Ukraine to protect Russian speaking people by killing those same Russian speaking people and obliterating their cities.

More stupid Russian fairytales. Russia has been fighting to support Assad in Syria for years and now they get blowback. Hardly surprising.

Any real investigation would probably find funding going through Qatar, where the FSB also launders money.

“Russian investigators” have continually invented financial charges against Putin’s political rivals when they aren’t outright imprisoning them. “Russian investigators” work for Putin, not for Russia.

Here’s the initial interview with one of the “Jihadists” (before the interrogators got hold of him). He was paid by having the money put “on the card”. Yep, I knew then this had the stench of a stupid, incompetent and incredibly reckless CIA operation about it. How hard was it going to be to track the cash trail? Simple stuff. And he was contacted via Telegram?!? Oh no, the Russians are too stupid to be able to track that. Yeah, of course, we called it.

Actually, if there is anything to this, let them publish the crypto transaction hashes for the whole world to see. Crypto being infinitely traceable, it would be fascinating to see the prior TX history on any crypto transactions alleged to be involved.

Quick summary of the geopolitical situation:

Putin is a monster.

Ukraine's government is/was massively corrupt.

A staggering number of people have died on both sides. See here. Yes, half a million people (and that's probably a low estimate).

US leadership is pathetic or complicit.

Shorter version: this is a nightmare for the world. I suspect it will just get worse.
