Beezwax Records was established in 1997 as a sole proprietorship dedicated to the recording and distribution of brass, jazz, and blues music.

Their home base is Elkhart, Indiana, where more brass instruments have been manufactured than anywhere else in the world.

When the first Beezwax Record came out on October 31, 1997, it was in CD form. It was also date stamped, serialized, embossed, personalized, and registered into a database as a way to honor the passion that exists between artist and audience.

The same holds true for the tens of thousands of CDs that were shipped since that day. Each one hand assembled and personalized.

No record label has ever treated recorded music with that kind of respect. The first recorded music ever made use of beeswax.

Since then, Beezwax released 25 additional albums, all either jazz or blues. The label has yet to garner any brass music, although they explored The Boston Brass recording under the legendary Rudy Van Gelder.

In March of 2018 Beezwax Records essentially mothballed its efforts due to the constraints of digital marketing, third party royalties, and exhaustion.

Now Beezwax Records wants to identify and employ no less than fifty people whose listening to music in general is eclectic, and whose ears are good.

Why? Because Beezwax Records wants to move forward, and they cannot do that without an honest assessment of their catalog.

Yours truly happens to be the founder of Beezwax Records. I recoil to some extent at using Free Republic to solicit input that can help a music entity grow, but cannot deny that there are serious music consumers here.

If you would like to participate in judging the entire content of what so far constitutes the whole catalog of Beezwax Records to date, then please send private message so Beezwax can send you the CDs.

Remember when you could hold good music in your hand? Beezwax Records is about that, and much more.

Yours truly has been blessed with a set of unbelievable connections that can make Beezwax Records a good example to the right and proper use of God's gift of music.

As a follow up to this:

1.) A fellow Freeper privately suggested a visually impaired audience to evaluate our present and future catalog. That’s just brilliant. Our contact with the American Council for the Blind is not only responsive, but enthusiastic.

2.) Had a conversation yesterday with a gentleman who purportedly ran GRP Records for a while, teaches music marketing and co-authored recent book on the same. He wants to lay ears on our catalog and has offered to assist with setting up the distribution of Beezwax Records content in all formats past present and future.

The concept for Beezwax Records has percolated and formed over 26 years and is based on the premise that, short of life itself, music is God’s greatest gift to man.

I’m just giddy over it, as after 65 years I’ve landed precisely where I should be in the way of vocation.

By the way, the first recorded sound known to man made use of beeswax.

That’s excellent news. I guess you feel like you’ve made some real progress in what you are trying to accomplish. I’m really happy to hear it.
