Navy Deletes Photo of Ship Captain Shooting Rifle with Scope on Backwards - “We’re Going To Lose A Major War”
Legal Insurrection ^ | 12 Apr, 2024 | James Nault

Just in the last two days we have reported on major issues with the U.S. military, ranging from delays in every major Navy shipbuilding program, U.S. Navy Facing Major Shipbuilding Delays While China’s Navy Expansion Accelerates, to problems with military recruiting: Army Invites Retirees as Old as 70 to Return to Active Duty in Attempt to Fix Recruiting Woes.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg, and all of you are likely well aware of the deteriorating state of our military under Joe Biden.

But through all this, and the other foibles of today’s DEI/CRT-centric military, we always sort of assumed a basic competence in, you know, the mission, i.e., shooting weapons.

Well, not any more.

From ZeroHedge: “We’re Going To Lose A Major War”: US Navy Deletes Photo Of Ship Commander Shooting Rifle With Backwards Scope:

Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, the Commanding Officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56), was recently photographed shooting a 5.56×45mm M4 carbine with the optics installed backward.

The now-deleted image and press release on the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service website featured Yaste shooting the M4 with the Trijicon VCOG scope installed backward while pointed at a giant target balloon.

Here’s what the press release said before it was deleted:

Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, the Commanding Officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56), fires at the “killer tomato” [i.e. a sea-deployed practice target] during a gun shoot. The ship is in US 7th Fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the US Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific Region....

A military made up a bunch of freeloading foreigners “on the cow trail to citizenship” who can’t even communicate with one another is going to get their asses kicked every time.

China and Russia giggled at this. Meanwhile they both don’t have problems building their ships.

Russia does seems to have a problem with their Navy deploying to the bottom of the Black sea. Forever.

Oh, well scratch that theory then. I thought it was just a single pic.

My apologies for triggering you.

Thank you. I was about to post this after the first 5 replies, but though I would read down first.: Pretty sure that the Commander did not assemble his that weapon, someone probably handed it to him for the photo. Whoever that was might have done it as a joke without realizing that there would be a photo and that would be published. I would not want to be the crew member who made his CO a laughingstock and who remains as part of the crew under his command.

Some have indicated that this was a deliberate comm, perhaps it was a way of saying that the military has been infiltrated and being run by a pack of the DEI inspissated communists who will fold in any real fight leave the U.S. defenseless, so and they need Citizens to vote and help to remove Biden and the deep state. Or, that when commanded to fire on American Citizens they will only make the pretense of obeying any illegal commands along this line. Could be, but probably not.

My first thought-CO was butt of maa or armorer payback. As former navy in my entire career I fired a 38 ( victory model) one time. 10 shots and do not think I struck the paper. That was total small arms requirement. Gunny did not smirk nor did I get snide or gratuitous remarks.

I’m sure he’s one helluva staff officer. I had a Battery Commander like that. Great staff officer, a disaster as a CO. A spitting image of Captain Sobel.

All he had to do was stay out of his officers’ way, and he would have had a successful command. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

My efficiency report could be classified as a career killer. My trump card was 20 years was not in my plans. I did 8, because I wanted to command a battery, nothing more. It was worth the wait.

I think the error is legitimate. Somebody in the armory really did mount it wrong.

However, it may also be a deliberate joke on the commander. He played along and shot the rifle anyway. They never intended that picture to end up in a publicity article.

>How do you mount it backwards? Is is made so you CAN mount it backwards?

Picatinny rail doesn’t care. You can mount it backwards if you want.

You are talking about 90% of the top officers in ALL branches of the US military at this point and then you will have to deal with the military version of HR and with the DEI recruits they have. What is sad is the Chicoms will not play nice and will dispatch many of these DEI recruits to the great beyond.

When it does get cleaned out my question is will the warriors step up to fight in another globalists cluster*&^% war. There are many on FR warcons who would fight the girl scouts just to have another war which I just don’t get their desire for constant war.

No way the ship’s Captain assembled that rifle. Some much lower ranking dipshit put it together backwards, then gave it to a higher ranking dipshit who didn’t notice something wrong ...

It’s photoshopped and really poorly done. No rings and rear ring mount at turret?

"There is an image of a US ship out there with rusting sides. The captain hadn’t had people painting it."

Maybe the Captain remembers when they did paint...

Who remembers when our great Commander in Chief Bill Clinton went to the DMZ in Korea and was looking out across the DMZ with binoculars with the lens caps still on.
