Why can’t Israel borrow for their own defense? Why must our grandchildren borrow and pay for it?
Vanity ^ | 4/21/24 | hardspunned

Israel has a national debt of $310 Billion owed by its 9.6 million citizens. Individually, each Israeli citizen’s share is $32,291. The U.S. has a national debt of $34 Trillion owed by 334 million citizens. Individually, each U.S. citizen’s share is $101,796. All politics aside, why am I, you, each of our children and grandchildren borrowing money to give to Israel when each of us already carries a debt burden three times that of each Israeli citizen?

Is ten layers of subterfuge.

I’ll rephrase the original premise of my comment.

“Jews” and Nazis, vs Jews and Nazi.

The more you study this, the clearer this will become.

This is the war going on in USA with Hollywood, Occult, Epstein, Communism, Ukraine.

Actually Israel spends about 3% or less on Defense, they don’t want to raise taxes to fight their wars. They get their money from us, and all the arms they want, so why should they pay for anything when we do it. Is rewet has enough supporters in the corridors of power to get anything they want with no strings attached.

The British conned is into taking over the Defense of Palestine after W.W. II through the United Nations, they made us the guarantor for Israel. Read the history.

You got that backwards. We would have a much easier time if we didn’t;t support Israel to the degree we do. The Oil embargo’s of the 1970’s were specifically aimed at us because of our defense of Israel.

Israel. 4.5% of GDP (2022 est.) 5% of GDP (2021 est.) 5% of GDP (2020 est.) - More than most EU nations do.

Of 198 countries, Israel is #10:

Top 20 Countries with the Highest Military Spending as a Percentage of GDP (2022)

Ukraine: 33.55%
Saudi Arabia: 7.42%
Qatar: 6.96%
Togo: 5.44%
Oman: 5.17%
Jordan: 4.84%
Algeria: 4.78%
Azerbaijan: 4.55%
Kuwait: 4.53%
Israel: 4.51%
Armenia: 4.32%
Russia: 4.06%
Morocco: 3.9%
Greece: 3.69%
USA: 3.45%

My original point stands:

“Israel does pony up a huge fraction of their GDP for defense.”

I don’t see 4.5% as a huge amount of their GDP. The Soviet Union when they collapsed were spending around 45% of GDP on Defense, that is a huge amount.

So if Israel can spend this then why are we giving them more money? For them to continue the war what would their defense spending be without us and would the Taxpayers of Israel pay it?

You don’t like the U.S. sending Israel money for defense.

So, call your congressmen.

They just voted overwhelmingly for it.

I know that all 4 of them did. But there is a whole lot of history to understand in the region and most people aren’t really that interested.

Answer
Yes, the lend-lease money provided by the United States during World War II was eventually paid back by the recipient countries, though the repayment process took many years and was complicated.
The United Kingdom repaid its lend-lease debt in full, with the final installment paid on December 29, 2006, over 60 years after the end of the war.

The Soviet Union was initially reluctant to repay its lend-lease debt after the war due to the onset of the Cold War. However, in 1972, the USSR agreed to pay $722 million to settle the outstanding debt, which was about a quarter of the original amount owed when adjusted for inflation. The final payment was made by the Russian Federation after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Amazing how the Ron Paulista isolationist cheapskates, who want zero aid to Ukraine, have similar thoughts about Israel (I predicted this months ago) As Israel takes on a multi-directional Islamic Jihad. Israel has the balls to take on the Muslim Jihad/ Unlike Europe that still allows themselves to be invaded by them. Israel’s war on Hamas, Iran and Hezbollah benefits the US and all civilized nations.

Israel at war, its economy is hurting. Israel is on an existentialist war footing that takes men into the IDF. Away from producing in their normal jobs. What foreign corporations will invest there, when Israel is under drones, rockets and missiles attack? So I favor us giving these billions of dollars to Israel. Or perhaps making this half loan and half gift.

The attitude of the Ron Paul isolationists is infantile. They are “Stop the World I Want to Get Off” ___Because emotionally they cannot handle wars. That are thousands of miles away from their own backyards/

You are from the Ron Paul marching band and appreciation society. Am I mistaken? The US has not been isolationist since WW2.

Ozzie took so much drugs that he got Parkinson’s. Black Sabbath is the dumbest group that became very famous. They are as awful as the Beatles.

The Stones were 10x better than those clowns. Making you a clown too, by osmosis.
