Inside secret billionaire retreats that are SO exclusive even the CEO of Goldman Sachs is a mere 'third tier guest' and if you have to ask, you're not invited

Hidden away in the Colorado Rockies, a Sicilian resort, or a Utah ski lodge are some of the most exclusive events a billionaire can hope to attend.

Attendee lists are so all-star that even the Goldman Sacks chief executive is a 'third-tier guest' and if you have to ask, you're not invited.

Between discussions topics like 'can you marry a robot?' quizzes on tech trends and performances by celebrities, deals are made and executives are hired.

More and more of these elite getaways are popping up as guests crave time away from the spotlight with few cameras and everything is off the record.

There are so many that even those rich and popular enough to be on everyone's list can't possibly go to them all and they hire advisers to tell them which to attend.

These events 'make Davos look like a Las Vegas trade expo' as the famous billionaire meetup has ballooned to more than 800 in recent years.

'My reason for declining the Davos invitation was not because I thought they were engaged in diabolical scheming, but because it sounded boring af lol,' Elon Musk said in 2022 (though it turned out he wasn't invited).

Long story and plenty of pics @ the link.

Google picked up the tab for everyone's flights, accommodation and entertainment during the three-day 'Google Camp', at a cost of $20 million.

Climate change hoaxsters.

I’m usually happy to stay at a 3 star hotel. Must be nice to be that rich. Of course some say money can’t buy happiness.

Happy is a peak thing, very quickly fading

Contentment is a mood that lasts

Money can make someone happy a little while

The things that money can get a person can make someone happy, a little while too

Money can make someone content if one can manage it well

But theres no guarantee money can/will make someone happy

I know a guy that is very wealthy (to me anyways - he probably made $1 million a year and retired early). He doesn’t spend it on anything lavish. Has one nice home and decent cars (he drives a 5-year old Lexus). He figured that one could have too much money and it would just add to one’s worries having to take care of the various homes, all the toys, etc.

Of course these ultra-rich in the article just pay somebody else to worry about those things.

They function/operate on another level than we do and it’s all interconnected. We’re simply the money train that feeds them in one way or another.

That’s cute that they think they would be safe there. The guys who built them know how to get in. And ask the Japanese Army how those deep bunkers on Iwo Jima and Tawara held up.

Flamethrowers are still a thing.

I find it interesting that most of the pictured “Brilliant Minds” are second and third rate entertainers; not captains of industry or finance or political leasers.

Reading the article, they invite a lot of Hollywood types.
Most of these types are not billionaires and not very smart, but provide for some picture quality.
Not that I would ever be invited, but this Hollywood environment is definitely NOT in my taste.

“God help us all.”

No. God help them. They have, most of them anyway, chosen the wrong path.

...which reduces your life to managing staff. Personally, I would not enjoy that.
