Democrats thought they had a winning strategy in the 2024 election by attempting to get Donald Trump off the ballot in various states and taking him off the campaign trail by tying him up in bogus legal battles. The first effort failed, as it should have, and now it looks like he’s taking advantage of being confined to New York because of the bogus trial over his perfectly legal non-disclosure agreement with Stormy Daniels in a way no one expected.
Last week, following his appearance in court, President Donald J. Trump visited the Harlem bodega of clerk Jose Alba, whom Soros-funded D.A. Alvin Bragg falsely accused of robbery, assault, and murder for acting in self-defense. When Trump arrived, enthusiastic supporters lined the streets to welcome him, chanting "Four more years!" and "Trump! Trump! Trump!" and "We love Trump!"
The optics were so good for Trump that Biden's campaign responded by sending Biden to a Sheetz gas station in Pittsburgh. The contrast between the two events was so dramatic. Both candidates were in deep blue areas, yet only Trump experienced enthusiasm and large crowds.
On Thursday, Trump once again made the best of his time in New York, by visiting a lower Manhattan construction before going to court. Once again, Trump was met with enthusiastic support, with locals shouting "We love Trump!" and "USA! USA!"
Trump is now saying he thinks New York is in play in 2024.

I think that's why Merchan is taking so long to make his ruling on this. He knows how unique and disruptive it will be.
He's probably also anticipating an immediate appeal by Trump's lawyers if he does this drastic move. Trump has already called the one-sided gag-order "unconstitutional," and adding what is effectively a home arrest will add fuel to that fire.
But I predict Merchan will do it anyway, because he's a true believer in the cause. I'm guessing he will drop this ruling on Monday when court resumes.
One more prediction to add to the list:
Once the ankle bracelet is attached, I think Merchan will also order that Trump can no longer give his mini-press conferences outside of the courthouse. Merchan will order Trump to only be allowed to move between Trump Tower and the courthouse without any delay or stops.

That would certainly put a damper on the recent enthusiasm about the National Popular Vote movement picking up another state.
If Democrats thought that Trump might win the popular vote, that enthusiasm might wane a bit over what it might portend for 2028.

I don’t know if Trump can win NY but I highly doubt Biden will be able win by double digits
I full expect Biden will not have a double digit win out of NY..
One more prediction: Merchan will order no more Trump mini-press conferences outside of the court.
Trump will be allowed to move between Trump Tower and the courthouse without stops.
Team Biden is going ballistic......that’s what the hope will happen.
Hah. Trump is figuring out a myriad off ways to circumvent any such orders as we type.
MSNBC will be cheering on Merchan, while Fox News will be crying two-tiered justice. Republicans in Congress will be silent.
It will come down to what the people have to say about it.

I work in Manhattan. Crowds line up daily to cheer Trump as he heads to his trial from Trump Tower on 56th St and 5th Avenue each morning.
Prtesidet TRump has tirned the bogus hush money case into a TRojan HOrse against the Dems in New Your State!
This is the way a future president indeed would act in such circumstances.
Judge Juan has egg all over his Dem face. So does his daughter.
New York State is now in play, not just NYC.
If “the fix is in” as people keep saying around here then it doesn’t matter what Biden knows or doesn’t know.
He should have rallies in NY a couple times a week
I don’t think NY can be won, but Trump will kill it in NYC relatively speaking which will make Biden’s ability to win NYS sub double digits.
I do think other states no one is talking about will be I play by late summer/fall.
But NYS? If Trump were to win NYS, then it’s going to be a bloodbath, politically, for the Dems.
I’d say Trump is on target to win the popular vote if general trending continues which means a lot of states no one is talking about are going to go for him this fall.
We will see how it all plays out, but unless something. Drastically changed Biden won’t win NY by 10+…. Will be lucky if he manages 7
Wouldn’t it be awesome if Trump’s excursions into the city due to the trials actually turned enough votes to flip NY to Trump? It seems that every time Trump meets people face to face he created new Trump supporter. The people see a completely different person than the media claims he is.
I have a picture in my head of the MSM media having to report on election night that Trump won NY. The sound of heads exploding could be heard for hundreds of miles.

the whole point of the trial is to prevent Trump from campaigning
And Merchan jailing Trump will seal the election for him, and I think even the Democrats know it.
