The Boys Scouts of America is changing its name to "Scouting America", marking the first change in its 114 years. The change is to make it more inclusive.
Scouting for Trannys is more fitting. The Scouts has always been a Gay playground for ScoutMasters.
Yes, real Girl Scouts we’ve known whose fathers took them to meetings stated how dull it was.
Makes me think their exciting photos of action and adventure are all fake or rare trips for any of them.
It’s ok to do “girl” things, but maybe they didn’t expand their horizons enough.
Frankly I don’t mind a unisex youth operation. They should keep them apart for overnight trips, but otherwise it’s not really that big a deal.
My main beef was the context of all around this. Pressure on BSA, homos and trannies and femiNAZIs berating them, etc. I don’t like capitulating and I don’t like tossing tradition.
But for us it’s been not much of any deal. In Cub Scouts the girls were so excited to join our pack and be first introduced to all. The boys have handled it fine.
Who remembers Camp Fire Girls?
I found out it’s long been just Camp Fire.
So what. We have a very well known acronym of SS. Much worse.
Luckily that has not been a problem for my soon-to-Eagle Scout Troop Leader.
He has loved it and he is no liberal.
No, girls do join Scouts, but they have to have their own section of Troop. But overall meeting activities they can be together. Trouble now is if there are enough girls to justify.
Churches do not actually have anything to do with Scout attendance. They simply allow troops and packs to use their facilities, sort of sponsoring. Of course they will advertise the troop to some extent, but troop is not drawn from the church.
Same for schools, which likewise allow this activity. Same even with Catholic schools. None of them strictly draw from the enrollments.
There is coordination between the facility and the troop/pack, but one does not feed the other.
Doesn’t matter; the org has been a rotting corpse to me for decades.
That is strictly for the age type program, not the overall ruling organization. Scouts BSA.
When you think about it, we need to make up our minds.
All boys, or open to both?
You complain if it’s all boys that there will be homos bothering them.
Then when they open to girls, you complain it’s not just a men’s club anymore.
We need to be consistent.
The Girl Scouts are migrating over to the BSA troops. The boys do more “fun” things. The Girl Scouts are pretty lame.

Nah…the scouts pretty much did themselves in.
They did not police themselves very well. They did not react well when they were presented with evidence. They did not adapt to the new world where father’s are not involved.
Honestly, I think they learned their crisis management from the Catholic Church.
During my years in San Diego there was a continuous assault on the scouts in San Diego County from the "gay community". The most public issues were around the Scout camp in Balboa Park and the Facility on Fiesta Island. The San Diego city council was eventually overtaken by a number of gay city council members. That turned out poorly for the scouts.
With respect, I doubt they'd tell you if they didn't like it.

Sure. And I attended "co-ed" schools exclusively. OTOH, I've seen all-boys and all-girls schools up close. There's a lot of value in that environment as well. Same with "scouting" type activities. Girls need to be able to be girls, without the distractions. Boys need to be able to be boys, without the distractions. Modernity allows, even encourages, the former but utterly destroys the latter.
I am a "Brother" of an all-male fraternal society. Our brotherly dynamic would be lost if we let women join.
Boys and girls, men and women, are different. Various social trends seek to erase that difference. It is a futile, destructive effort; we can't change human nature.
Who needs Boy Scouts or Scouting America when you have your iPhone and TikTok?
Another question: why did they leave America in the name?
My son earned his Eagle in 2010, before Gates sold the organization down the toilet. I earned my Life rank in 1962. I am proud of my son and the benefits of his training into his adult life. I am proud to have been a Scouter while he was in the BSA.
I am broken hearted to see what the sell-outs have done to this special organization. May they rot in Hell!

You’re missing the point.
It’s fine if there are boys only or girls only type places.
My son is in a boys-only Catholic school, after being in Catholic co-Ed school all his life prior. He joined Cubs when it was still actually BOY Scouts.
My mother loved her girls-only schools (same as sons co-Ed now) in HS and college. Absolutely adored them. She was an educator too and was totally supportive of 1-sex schooling, though her whole career was co-Ed.
But there isn’t anything inherently wrong with universal organizations. I do think it’s best to keep them apart for overnight stuff, but other things is not a big deal. You’re afraid boys won’t be able to talk about how they want to screw girls?
The big upset seems to be that it changed tradition, which I cringe about myself. But what is proposed is not bad.
As far as your first reply…I think we can tell if the boys like it. Sometimes, the parents clearly are keeping them there, but sometimes that’s ok too, to an extent. But most are happy with it.
And I still say we need to be consistent. Is it bad or not? Same people complain about homos in BSA as complain about letting girls in. This logic should mean that girls and women being more prominent would protect the boys more, eh? Don’t worry I do both myself at times. As far as homos, yes it needs to be addressed but until you address it at large in society, it won’t be resolved. It’s the cause celebre now, and they’ll never survive fighting it. Maybe if they were smaller and less visible? But still need to watch out for any predators.
Seems to heavily depend on the council and troop.
My son and husband heavily involved, no problem. Lots of scouts get thru fast around here, but not everyone (some in the Nick of time).
So are we now going to allow Scout Masters in tents with teen age girls? Or boy and girl scout sharing tents?

I left the BSA when they abandoned their duty to God and allowed in the homosexuals. Glad I did.
