Oppose Amnesty for Illegal Aliens
The Coalition for the Future American Worker (CFAW) ^

Posted on 02/03/2005 9:58:41 PM PST by Coleus

Urge your representative and senators to oppose amnesty for illegal aliens, in any shape or form.

The Bush administration will continue to push for some form of amnesty. A statement posted on the White House website (http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/immigration/) in a report covering President Bush’s January 7th White House meeting during which he discussed his immigration policy, stated:

“On January 7, 2004 President Bush proposed a new temporary worker prrogram to match willing foreign workers with willing U.S. employers when no Americans can be found to fill the jobs. The program would be open to new foreign workers, and to the undocumented men and women currently employed in the U.S. This new program would allow workers who currently hold jobs to come out of hiding and participate legally in America’s economy while not encouraging further illegal behavior.”

Incredibly, the same statement adds: “President Bush does not support amnesty because individuals who violate America’s laws should not be rewarded for illegal behavior and because amnesty perpetuates illegal immigration.”

However, there is strong opposition in Congress among the president’s own party. A January 12th Reuters news report noted that Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo), who heads the House Immigration Reform Caucus, was determined
to block any amnesty legislation.

Please, why don't you talk to Hispanics and get some facts.

Most Hispanics came here legally and ARE AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, lived through 9-11, despise illegals and want the borders protected.

don't you know about the Hispanic gang M13? They have aligned themselves with al quaeda.

there were 14,000 non Hispanics brought through the Mexican Border last year.

This is one of the means by which the terrorists enter this country illegally.

This isn't a racial issue, it's a constitutional and terroristic issue.

I'm well aware of how the President won the election and if it weren't for the various splinter groups involved he would have lost.

Including the pro life group, Howlin

ILLEGAL ALIEN HANDBOOK BY THE STATE OF COLORADO

LOU DOBBS, CNN. Aired 2/2/05

CASEY WIAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT : The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that children of illegal aliens are entitled to an education in this country, but some say the Colorado Department of Education has taken that too far.

Until this week, its Web site offered a Spanish language brochure called Survival Guide for Recent Arrivals to Colorado. Along with information useful to legal immigrants, it contains tips clearly intended for illegal aliens.

The guide advises "The job of the police is not to report you to immigration"; "Always carry the name and phone number of an attorney who will take your calls"; Some lawyers help illegal aliens for a very low price"; and "Many businesses employ illegal aliens since they do not have the responsibility to investigate the legal status of employees.

The guide was endorsed by Denver's Mexican consulate, but it also contained a welcome message from Colorado Governor Bill Owens who says he thought it was advice for legal immigrants. Governor Owens ordered it removed from the state's Web site this week after Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo wrote a letter of protest.

REP. TOM TANCREDO (R), COLORADO: It's amazing. What would the Mexican government do if we did something like that? They would immediately file a protest. Yet we are really silent on it because I think we are co-conspirators.

WIAN: The booklet was produced and distributed by an immigrant education group called Focus Points Family Resource Center. It said in a statement, "The guide tries to inform people of their rights. It informs people how to navigate the community safely."

Funding came in part from First Data Western Union, which profits from illegal aliens sending money home. The guide even mentions Western Union and includes a sample family budget showing $200 for relatives in Mexico.

WIAN: The Colorado Department of Education's director of English language acquisition says the guide contains lots of useful information, and, if some portions are raising concerns, he'd like to see them modified so the rest of the document can be used.

While it's off the state Web site, it was still on the Denver public school district's Web site late today

DOBBS: Congressman Tancredo said -- I mean, I just -- this leaves one almost speechless. How in the world does Governor Owens justify both his imprimatur on that product in permitting a state government department to produce it?

WIAN: Well, he says that he thought it was a guide for legal immigrants. It's, frankly, very tough to square with the reading of the guide, even in Spanish. It's very clear that a lot of the information in it is directed at illegal aliens, information that legal immigrants would probably have no use for.

DOBBS: Casey, thank you very much.

"Please, why don't you talk to Hispanics and get some facts. "

Why should a person with an Hispanic surname know more facts than I? Do you know the facts? Are you Hispanic? Are Hispanic babies born knowing facts that Anglo babies aren't

Does Gallup have secrete polls that only people with Hispanic surnames are allowed to view? Is Gallup Hispanic?

Do all Hispanics know about M13 and how many OTMs entered last year? If I take your suggestion and ask an Hispanic for the facts and he tells them to me, then a non-Hispanic would know the facts. If non-Hispanics are allowed to know the facts then why can't I learn the facts from another non-Hispanic?

.

"This is one of the means by which the terrorists enter this country illegally. "

No it isn't. There hasn't been a single documented case of a terrorist entering the U.S. by jumping the southern border. The risk of being caught is greater than if they simply fly in on a commercial airplane on a six month tourist visa or from one of the 60 nations from which no visa is needed.

Gee, I feel so much better now that I know they're NOT documented. Let's just wait until they "jump the southern border" and kill a few hundred thousand people and THEN we'll document it. < / sarcasm >

Sometimes you amaze me with your lack of understanding of the many problems with illegal immigration.

That means articles posted to "news" etc usually get put in the "smokey backroom"(where they don't appear on the forum page as much) usually if they are about illegal immigration.

Bush's "guest worker" program is de facto amnesty and
has been described as such by Rush Limbaugh, National
Review, Commentary, Lou Dobbs, Weekly Standard, an
increasingly large number of congress, and the public
(Gallup poll 1/31/05). As Tom Tancredo said, " A pig
with lipstick is still a pig." Right now Bush is part
of the problem, not the solution.

Thanks, I'm glad I'm not alone.

Seems the FR has something to hide, they put this thread in the Smokey back room as if we were arguing about this. Most on the FR are in agreement.

I noticed that. It is really unfortunate, to say the least...

What does "smokey backroom" mean? >>

This is the part of the fr where they bury threads they don't like or put when the thread becomes more of a discussion rather than the topic at hand.

Fortunately, I am seeing lots of illegal immigration articles in the regular news section. I guess it has become a more mainstream and acceptable topic.
