It's been almost a month. So how is this going to end? Who will "win"?
Trump has to Win. Otherwise we have a never ending invasion and chaos.
Republicans' greatest skill is to save Democrats from their own problems, knowing that the Democrats' greatest skill is to trick Republicans into believing they are in no-win situations.

The Cheap Labor wing of the GOP will push to have Trump use the emergency powers. The wall will get tied up in court. Additionally, the POTUS doesn’t have eminent domain ability under these powers. Without land, there is no wall.
Graham is already pushing Trump to open the Govt for 3 weeks and then use emergency powers if they don’t have a deal.
The GOP fold is imminent. Let’s hope Trump holds strong.
It looks like neither side can back down. He will have to invoke the emergency and designate the funding and then he can sign whatever they put in front of him. That will enable them to say they held tough for their base and hopefully (for them) give them an issue to run on in 20.
There is already an easement on the border.
It’s been 22 1/2 days as of noon ET today. That’s barely 3 weeks. What are you talking about a month?
7 more days to a month. Actually 6 beacuase tomorrow will be 23rd day of shutdown.
The President gets the money for the border.
We have been waiting for 32 years.
Congress promised border security in 1986.
They did it again in 2006 with the Secure Fence Act.
Time to build it.
Trump can at any time declare an emergency and begin the debated small segment of the wall.
He will let Fed.gov and the Dems squirm a bit more first, which is a good thing

right now, the American people are winning by having the over=bloated expensive federal government partially trimmed down
we need to make this partial shut down permanent, expand it to cover at least twice or maybe 3x as may positions (while carefully making sure all of the axed jobs are not needed, so far all of the ones that are suspended are officially-designated “non-essential jobs” anyway.. these all need to be examined to be sure... and then cut the illegal/unconstitutional positions like ATF and DHS (we have an FBI for that sort of domestic security business and FBI needs cleanup anyway)
let’s keep winning by letting Pelousy keep her partial shut down GOING PERMANENTLY and then expanding it

I predict Trump and the Republicans will fold. Trump will call it winning. No wall no changes. Hopefully the Dems wont be able to pass anything while they have the house.
President Trump owes nothing to the GOP.
President Trump owes nothing to the unions.
President Trump owes nothing to big money sponsors.
The only people he owes anything to are the voters that voted for him because he said he would build the wall. Those voters are not going to be putting pressure on the President.
So where would the pressure come from to make President Trump cave? The media? They have already put about as much pressure on him as is possible, so he does not care.
The President knows the promise of the Democrat leadership is worthless. They will lie to get want they want and go back on any deal made.
So the Democrats will be the one that caves and vote for the money for the wall (but expect something really bad included in any budget that gets passed).
If we had a MSM that reported NEWS, not opinions of the readers and ‘writers’, it would have been emphasized that while yes, the President may be acting cruel and hardheaded BUT the Speaker - when asked what can be done about ending the ‘shutdown’ - emphatically stated NO MONEY FOR BORDER SECURITY..... where the LIBs are losing, people ARE noticing this attitude and even some of the most LIBERAL of the LIBERALS are telling NP to get her foot out of her hindparts and at least ACT LIKE you are trying to negotiate.
I told a bartender/waitress friend of mine that I wasn’t all that ‘worried’ about the shutdown and she said something to the effect of ‘those poor people and no checks’.....
I tossed in the word NON ESSENTIAL and asked her (she works lunch basically alone - at HER request) what would be her action if the owner hired 2 more people to ‘stand by’ in case they were needed and gave them a table now and then and they didn’t share.
She said that unless she asked for it - NO WAY and realizes if she ‘complains’ once, there will always be more ‘help’.
I then pointed out that the people told not to come in are considered to be not needed so why should WE - the taxpayers - continue to pay them.
(She is pretty bright - and I am surprised she didn’t throw in that they would probably be on welfare/food stamps etc if not working for the Fed).
We apparently can get along fine without these people, why not lay them off, give them severance pay and move on?
While we’re waiting for the Dems to come around we should withhold money from sanctuary cities/states, punish employers who employ illegals, cut off taxpayer bennies to all but legal US citizens, and have ICE shift their deportations into high gear.
Use this time and situation to our advantage.
Eventually there will be enough sob stories in enough districts to get enough votes to overturn veto.
That's what I'm afraid of. So if I'm Trump, I would declare an emergency and then go ahead and use the money from disaster fund to build the wall. But then again, I would get tied up in courts because it would be declared to be "unconstitutional".
