Squatter clambers through window into house as outraged homeowner watches in horror - only for cops to tell couple man has the right to

An outraged Texas couple is pleading with lawmakers as their contractor turned squatter refuses to leave their property.

Yudith Matthews and Abram Mendez said they hired a contractor to complete tile work for their fixer-upper San Antonio property.

But after they fired him for not completing the work, the contractor refused to leave and is now reportedly living in the house.

The couple even filmed the unwanted guest climbing through their window despite being asked to leave.

'We don't have any protection. There's legislators that are out there, who are making headway, but we need more headway across America to protect us, the homeowners

The couple tried calling law enforcement to remove him from the property, but they said police refuse to get involved.

'It's really a gimmick, I think, for the municipalities across America to make money.'

The contractor originally asked the couple if he could stay on the property while he was completing the work because he had gout.

They agreed, drew up a contract, and Mendez filmed the squatter signing the paperwork.

But the squatter allegedly stole the phone with the footage and deleted the video evidence.

The job was only supposed to take a few weeks to complete, but the contractor kept delaying the job or making excuses as to why he couldn't work.

After the couple fired him, he still refused to leave.

'He must be homeless. He never, never even worked in the restroom,' Mendez said.

'The first few days, he was complaining of his gout. Then after I was trying to get a work schedule from him, he would just give me runarounds.'

'Little by little showing that… it was a room. It was the house that he wanted all along,' he continued. 'With our trust he abused us.'

I assume Texas has a lot of land to drop people off to never be seen again.

Maybe the house might spontaneously catch on fire and then they would have to collect on the homeowner’s fire insurance?

That would really be a shame now, wouldn’t it?

He doesn’t sound like a contractor...he sounds like some guy who said he’d do it cheap. How STUPID!

And they agreed up front to let him stay on the property while he was on the job. Sorry, but, WTF were they thinking? “Cheap” I bet. This doesn’t add up, there’s more behind it.

In my rural Texas county this would not be an issue. I would evict him at gun point. If he called the sheriff (who I have breakfast with each week at our local Rotary club) I don’t think he would get the response he is looking for.

Reason # 1,000,074 why I will never live in a democrat controlled large city again.

Why can’t you be in fear for your life as you walk through YOUR FRONT DOOR and notice an Intruder and then shoot everyone in sight???

Five hundred bucks to a couple guys from the saloon and a baseball bat would be a good investment by the homeowners.

Being Texas, you would think that would be the scenario. Just tell the police he was reaching into his shirt, and you thought he had a gun, so you shot him.

The utopian ideal would be laws passed by honest politicians to safeguard the safety and rights of good citizens against criminals as part of a system of justice that is fair and assuring equal treatment to all. (Sorry. No dice.)

The US pseudo justice system people and the government will be dismayed but they were derelict in their duty. The rending of the social fabric is their fault.

Many stories will have to have in common “another couple of squatters have been missing for over a week without a trace.” Police have no suspects.

“According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUS) database, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 600,000 people go missing annually. Approximately 4,400 unidentified bodies are recovered each year.”

Peoples Republic of San Antonio. Not surprised McManus and his cops would say this. San Antonio is right behind Houston and Austin.

If the government doesn’t feel comfortable about that truth they should have thought of that before having a faulty system of weak laws and dangers to innocent people.

"It was the house that he wanted all along,' he continued. 'With our trust he abused us."

That's why everywhere you go in the countries these scumbags come from you see walls, iron bars, electric fences and razor wire everywhere.. The people and their kids stay behind those walls and the thieves and gangs roam the streets looking for a way to get inside.

Check it out on google maps, street view.
