DFU SONG: Fields of Gold (Kerry sings about the Packers' historic Lambert Field)
DFU SONGS | 8-2004 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

MIDI - FIELDS OF GOLD

It would come again...I did not know when...upon the frozen tundra
Those were glory days...Brad Starr showed the way...they kicked butt on Lambert Field

Cleveland's Steelers found...they'd be taken down...upon the frozen tundra
Those were glory days...Brad Starr showed the way...historic Lambert Field

Van Lombardi'd say...winning is okay...upon the frozen tundra
Those were glory days...Brad Starr showed the way...they kicked butt on Lambert Field

Hornung's playing guard...what a tub of lard...upon the frozen tundra
Those were glory days...Brad Starr showed the way...historic Lambert Field

I have always been a Packer fan
I still go to every game I can
Why did they put that dome on top...historic Lambert Field
Over historic Lambert Field

(brief musical break)

They kicked Jordan's can...Nitschke, girly man...upon the frozen tundra
Those were glory days...Brad Starr showed the way...historic Lambert Field

Adderley had sucked...Taylor always ducked...upon the frozen tundra
Those were glory days...Brad Starr showed the way...historic Lambert Field

I love historic Lambert Field...that historic Lambert Field

Yes, he did. He really did. KERRY CAN KISS WISCONSIN GOODBYE

THE FROZEN TUNDRA OF... LAMBERT FIELD? [08/26 08:05 PM]
Steve Chaggaris of CBS News reports:

On Wednesday, Kerry made his third visit to Green Bay, Wis., this year and made it a point to focus on the main thing the city revolves around: football and the Green Bay Packers... As he was taking questions from the audience, he referred to the legendary Packers stadium, Lambeau Field (which has been called that for 39 years) as "Lambert Field."

Green Bay Packer fans are rioting in the streets after John Kerry blew the secret wide open. The Packers' 2004 home games will be played at Lambert Field in St. Louis. Our inside information from the chief security officer of Lambert Field is that the goal posts will be set up between Concourse C and Concouse D.

Doug!!!!!

I just sang that whole thing in my best Eva Cassidy voice (which I do really well btw, particularly picking guitar).

You think I'm EVER going to be able sing Fields of Gold at a gig again???

Damn, man!

And as a Lions fan, I know all about Lambeau. :(

Not just football. His problem is that he is trying to show that he is a sports fan and can relate to the regular folks out there. It is all phony, and everyone is seeing that it is phony.

President Bush leads in Wisconsin -- CLICK.

No, big sports fan John Kerry, Van Lombardi will not be voting for you. Neither will Pat Hornung. Or Roy Nitschke.
