How do you remove a line ______________________________ like this, that has become bolded because two lines connected?
I've been trying to get the darn thing off a saved Microsoft document and just can't figure any way to get rid of it.
Thank you for your suggestions.
White out. :-)
While going to Google groups to look for an answer, I just learned something else:
Type several equal signs, hypens or underlines, hit enter, and it automatically extends to the whole line. The result is a border of sorts. But I am able to delete it afterward.
Works with asterisks, too.
I know.
But you take the good with the bad.
No carbon paper these days but quirky things like lines that refuse to leave.
I sure need one.
You've been hit by the "AUTOCORRECT" feature...
To turn it off completely...
[format]
[AutoFormat]
[Options]
Select the 'AutoFormat As You Type' Tab at the top
Under the "Apply as you type" heading
Uncheck 'Border Lines'
If you just want to stop that one instance then there should be a little 'lightning icon' that appears near where you put in your line. Click that and select 'Undo Border Line'.
Hope this helps.
Mine happened when two underlines "jumped" together to form one bolded line. It's right in the middle of a huge text and I can't isolate it or delete it. It goes where ever I move the text around it.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'll give it a try and let you know.
Thank you!
Oh, THAT format. I hit c:/format.
Got rid of my line, though.
NO not c:/format!!!!!! even if you do have the format program in the root directory.
I don't get the lightning icon.
Word is from Satan
Thanks for the tips.
LOL
I think I've muddled through.
