A few liberals, such as civil liberties writer Nat Hentoff and Rev. Jesse Jackson, supported Terri's family. But most supported Michael.

To be fair, let's remember that a good number of self-described "conservatives" right here on our own FR sided with Michael as well...if for no other reason than to sacrifice Terri to the principle of "states rights."

But this aside, thanks for posting this. I had feared that Terri's plight had been forgotten.

This act forever changed the way our country is seen, not only in the eyes of the rest of the world, but here at home as well. This was a sad time in American history. I never thought I would be ashamed of our country, but I was wrong.
