When did the Houston Chronicle become so liberal? (Vanity)
Posted on 10/19/2006 9:08:33 PM PDT by Ravi
None.
TOPICS: Business/Economy; Politics; Society; Weird Stuff
KEYWORDS: houstonchronicle; houstoncomical
I waded into their website and their political areas and thought I was reading a DNC press release. I used to live in Houston and don't remember the paper being like this. I wonder if they're losing subscribers considering the conservatism of the area.

Part of the problem is likely the result of no other big city paper to offer competition - the Post is long gone. Just a thought. I moved from Houston in 1985.

I wonder if they're losing subscribers considering the conservatism of the area. That's the answer to your question. In order to maintain their dwindling readership, they preach to whoever is still buying into their point of view.

That's too bad. I used to read Blinebury for sports and some others on their sports pages long ago. But the politics section just turns my stomach between Hinnes and Robison - there's no balance to these two morons.

Politics and sports don't mix, IMHO. I watch sports to escape the world of politics. Even that's getting hard to do these days as ESPN has been taking it upon themselves to showcase some of the leftist lowlifes on MNF of all places lately.
Fortunately the local sportswriters in the local paper I read online have no interest in politics.
The rest of the paper, particularly the national and international news sections are just an extended version of the liberal claptrap from the NYT or the WaPo.
