A special surprise for our own Charles Henrickson who frequently guest hosts the DUmmie FUnnies in addition to pastoring wayward Lutherans in the St. Louis area. His song parody, How Do You Free Obama From Maria? has now been produced into a VIDEO by Henry Gomez of the BABALU BLOG. In addition to being one of the top biblical scholars around including being fluent in several dead languages (Aramaic, ancient Greek, etc.) and some live ones (Swedish, German, etc.), Charles is easily the BEST song parodyist out there. In fact, his Palm Beach Pokey PARODY became the theme song of the Florida 2000 election fiasco and was played on by many radio stations around the country at that time. Unfortunately Charles was NOT credited by name as the author of that 2000 post-election theme song.
However, we shall now attempt to rectify that situation with the first of what I hope will be many of the Charles Henrickson parody songs to be featured on YouTube (and hopefully radio stations). And featured here today from YouTube is Charles' most recent song parody, How Do You Free Obama From Maria? based on the song, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria.? Read the Henrickson parody lyrics as you hear the song in this video. Both the video and the lyrics are based on the controversy caused by Obama volunteer, Maria Isabel, who had a Che Guevara flag displayed in her office as you can see discussed in the previous DUmmie FUnnies EDITION.
The next step will be to produce a video with a singer performing the Henrickson parody lyrics of not only this song but many of the SCORES of parody songs that Charles has written over the past few years. In particular I would love to see I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE HIM from the musical Barack Obama Superstar produced as a YouTube musical video. Of course, such a video would have to feature scenes of Chris Matthews cooing over his Obamassiah as bolts of thrill run up his leg.
In the meantime, enjoy this video. Hopefully there will be MORE to come. This being an election year means there will be a BIG demand for such parody songs which can be played on radio stations with attribution (and hopefully remuneration) to Charles.

Hopefully we will soon be seeing videos where the parody lyrics are actually sung by a singer.
There's always Sundays. I gave up Borders (instant gratification, it's a block from my office) but not Amazon.

UPDATE! I just got the word that there will be an IMPROVED version of this video later today. Will post it when it becomes available.
Well, it was more that I have 10 books already on the schedule and my wife said “Not another d$%% one till you finish those”. Which makes sense, because I said the same about her scrap booking stuff. :)
