New name for RINOS; Vichy Republicans (VANITY)

After reading all these stories about republicans and "conservatives" who are jumping off the ship, I thought of a new name for them. How about Vichy Republicans? Sounds like these commentators who are dissing Sara Palin, the administration and "mean" republicans are looking for an accomodation with the new Obamaocracy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vichy_France

Yep. One time, I asked the girl at the Marriott reception desk directions to an Iwo Jima memorial nearby and she had never heard of Iwo Jima nor did she understand it's significance.

New name for Republicans: Conservative unaffiliated.

Face it, folk, it's not our party any more. The country clubbers took over, and there are more of them these days in Congress and in the party structure and in the punditocracy than old-style Reagan conservatives.

We should probably save this discussion for post-election.

The Country Clubbers have the institutions, but they do not have the party. They are the ones leaving. We’ll have it for ourselves soon enough. Of course, we’ll inherit a weakend party since we we’ll have to rebuilt the institutions from the ground up.

Vichy Republicans. I like it. (Either that or Vichy Conservatives.) We are in a war, after all, and they did turn tail and run just as the fighting got tough, and just when we needed them most. Parker, Noonan, Buckley, Krauthammer, Barnes. "Vichy" is fitting.

Let’s focus on defeating the socialists first. Then we can take care of the RINOs. Let’s not let side issues keep us from the current priority.
