If this was a movie...it might be called " unfit to serve"..but it is NOT a movie. (vanity)

Every day...it is getting better. We hear things like "The president is just overwhelmed" and "he was too tired to greet the PM from England". Then--He appears on Leno, and does Final Four predictions!!

He proposes DUMB things like making veterans pay for their OWN medical care with their OWN insurance.

He wants a "cap and trade" scheme that will return us to the "bad old days" of 4+ dollar a gallon gas, skyrocketing energy bills and higher cost for ALL of our products and services.

He has proposed a MULTI--TRILLION dollar "bailout" that is NOT helping ANYTHING.

He is able to distract the populace from the REAL issues facing this country, like the Russians beginning to return to the cold-war mentality, Iran getting a good amount of fissile material, North Korea wanting to retake SK, and some serious problems in Mexico. How does he do this--with the "AIG bonus scandal" which ALL of his party knew about--and approved--some time ago.

He is convincing a sizable portion of this country that "why not have ALL businesses controlled and owned by the government"?? After all--Capitalism has failed--many say...including my boss. Why not let the government control everything??

And on and on and on..

If this was just a MOVIE,...it would be fun to watch. A TOTALLY inept administration, staffed by crooks, drop-outs and terrorist sympathizers--trying to boondoggle a country. Perhaps, it could have some "hero" who comes out and "rescues" the country" before the end of the movie, a proverbial John Galt--returning things to the "way they should be". A nice ending to a movie, called "unfit to serve",, perhaps. We could all be entertained by that.

Except..it is NOT a movie. it is the REALITY (show) of America. Or is it "AmeriKa" now...

Where is our "John Galt" today"?? Atlas IS shrugging badly.

Less than 6 months ago--I had NEVER heard of that term before. Now I hear it a LOT.

Maybe it IS too late for us all. Maybe it IS time for the "freedom cycle", which I was taught about 25 years ago as a teen--to "return full circle" BACK to BONDAGE--where it STARTS from. After all--this ONCE great nation has gone MORE than "200 years".

Please tell me when this "movie" will end..I want to leave this "theater" and go back to "reality".

It will end when the people get tired of the tyranny they have allowed. Not a minute sooner. The zero is convinced that he can destroy the “rich” and yet make everyone better off, even though they will have no jobs and no income other than what the government gives them.

Yeah, I'd like to hear from FReepers who were aware adults during Clinton, Carter, even LBJ...did it ever seem this dangerous, this close to the brink?

I had an amazing conversation with a good friend who is a confirmed DemocRAT. She is appalled at everything this guy is doing. I mentioned the making veterans pay their own health care. She was shocked.

I think that two years of this will be more than enough for the RATS. Expect the house and senate to turn on a dime in 2010.

I feel the first public insurrection...I feel it in the air and it is scary...yet cleansing, somehow.

Not really. I was an adult in Billys days.

There were some bad times of course. Some proposals he had—and others like Reno, who once suggested that “Christians should ALL be institutionalized “for the “common good”...were indeed frightening. And the “Hillary care” plan—that was NOT good. Selling our nuclear secrets and other things like that—were also bad too.

But Bill was more “STUPID than DANGEROUS”.

Right now—I would LOVE to have bill back.

Obama is THE most dangerous man this country has EVER seen!!

Bill was more into POON than than promoting Socialism. Obama is a dedicated Marxist. Much more dangerous.

America is becoming a kleptocracy (a society governed by thieves).

Yes, Carter was the worst. Of course LBJ was probably just as bad but I was just a teenager. I do remember hearing that they were going to have a program to persuade people that taking welfare was not shameful, because at that time it was shameful. LBJ certainly succeeded in that goal.

But Carter was the worst. He kept telling us that we would never have a standard of living again as good as what we had then, we would just have to accept less, and then we had Reagan come along with his "It's morning in America" campaign. Toward the end of the Carter administration I turned off the TV whenever he was on simply to protect the picture tube. Jimmah allow Iran(our friend in the middle east) to be taken over by radical Islamist. That was his fault and he is entirely responsible for 911 as far as I am concerned. He set the stage for it. by his weakness.

Clinton was another fool. He campaigned on a tax cut and the minute he got elected he told us that he was mistaken and the budget deficit was such that he would have to massively raise taxes, and he did. The house flipped to republican for the first time in forty years (or my lifetime)two years after his election. Hillary was in charge of health care and I was resigned to us just having mediocre care from then on, but the people rose up and made congress change directions, very much like the recent amnesty bill that McCain sponsored.

Well can't speak for LBJ years (was just a child then) - but I was an adult during Carter and Clinton.

Trust me when I say IT HAS NEVER BEEN THIS DANGEROUS! And trust me also when I say there has NEVER been a time since 1860 in this country where open rebellion and state sovereignty issues are being discussed and sent to state legislatures. And at least 2 states have so far passed it. Complete List so Far

I can promise you tea parties and legislation regarding state sovereignty was never on the table during LBJ, Carter or even Clinton.

“Please tell me when this “movie” will end..I want to leave this “theater” and go back to “reality”.

Exactly what I was thinking earlier, only I used the word “nightmare” instead of “movie.”

Then again, this is what happens when America elects an affirmative action President, who isn’t even particularly qualified to be a do-nothing Senator. This is what happens when America - including our “justice” system, turn a blind eye to the very real possibility that the guy isn’t qualified to be President - LITERALLY, because of his place of birth. This is what happens when people look at the pathetic performance of George W. Bush as President and think: “Well, we couldn’t do worse than THIS loser, could we?”

I thought Obama would suck as President, to be sure, but even I never expected we would be in a “let’s watch America disassembled, day-by-day” watch, each and every day of his administration. And we’re only three months into this nightmare...?!

Oh, but all will be well. He’ll go on Network TV and maybe even throw out some feel-good phrases from days long past (like “hope” and “change”). Then he’ll suggest what the nation really needs is tolerance, right before detailing the latest Democrat plan to get Rush Limbaugh off the air. If we’re lucky, he’ll get asked some really tough questions - like “boxers or briefs?” and we may even learn how Michelle and the kids are taking to the White House.

Sigh.

I keep seeing, “Wait until the election in 2010, then we will turn it around”. My God! Look at the destruction in just a few weeks, do you really thing there will be anything left of the country by next election?

Obama is a dedicated Marxist. Much more dangerous.

...but more easily exposed and neutralized. Soros funded too many moderate Dems who are beginning to smell the coffee. To me, Obama's blown it early and won't have the capital to pull off health care or cap 'n trade. Have a little faith.

Unless miss my guess,(and I PRAY that I do..)

The “final alarm” bell will have sounded from heaven by that time. Unless the Lord decides to be merciful ONE LAST TIME to this country.

2 more years is an AWFUL long time with O in power.

Same here, a couple I used to do political battle with all through the Bush years has turned. Through the porkulous bill debate they were “really busy, not following it” now they are shopping for guns and openly scared about where this is all going. I think those 64% approval ratings are BS. He only got 62% of the vote, and I have yet to talk to someone who ostensibly voted for McCain, but is just thrilled at the way this is working out.....
