We lived in Austin (liberal utopia) for 8 years from 1992-2000 and loved it. Just like any state there are some areas that are more conservative than others. We’re in VA now and with McDonnell at the helm we’re feeling pretty good about it. If any state were to “succeed” it would be Texas however. (if any)
My wife and I visited the Austin area a few years back, sort of reconnoitering, trying to decide where we might want to live after retirement. If we chose Texas it will certainly be Austin ... great town in spite of the libs.
