They will go back to sleep, thinking someone else will take care of the problem. Not that that is what I want, but it is what will happen. I see the see saw effect as purposeful and purposed. They will take away all of our liberties one election cycle at a time.

What I believe has a good chance of happening is that the increased violence and demands from the leisure class/hooligans will be met by a fed up citizenry and pressured police.
No longer will people be silent as they are beaten by thugs, folks will become prepared and fight back. Thugs will die, riots will start, the usual looting, etc will ensue and be met by a even more fed up and better prepared citizenry.
