it's just my opinion, but the above document, which has been discounted as a fake, is actually a scanned copy of an application for a birth certificate, and the application was made by someone who couldn't spell Madelyn, wrote Erickson down as Ericson, put a dot over the missing 'i' in Blaine just to be on the safe side, didn't know how to spell the name of the street, (at the address the Dunhams were renting, with Ann Obama renting the bungalow at the rear) and Lord only knows who SHE was...and notice the way the numbers 8 (eight) are written? Just like the numbers eight on the Kenya BC that everyone claims is a fake (are you there Lucas?)and to top it all off, he signed three names with his own hand, making the last one deliberately unreadable...and called himself NEGRO-AFRICAN...and when Madelyn tried to obtain a certified birth certificate years later, they pulled out the old application and stamped it, but what SHE got for her trouble, I have no idea.

read the thread carefully, I am convinced we were far too quick to call this a fake. Seems to me now that Madelyn went there in 1982, and that’s why that item on the bottom appeared...but it wasn’t Madelyn who lodged the original application...

It was lodged by someone who wrote down the names PHONETICALLY.

I can't see what use a Certificate of Live Birth from 1981 has in connection with this controversy. Obama was purported to have been born twenty years earlier so the format of the Hawaii BC was likely changed in the interim.

Aside from that, we've already seen an image of a bona fide Hawaii Certificate of Live Birth from 1961. In fact, we've seen two: those are the BC's of the Nordyke twins, who were born in Hawaii one day after(?) Obama's purported DOB.

If it was Hussein himself who made the amendment changes, his ego would never let him put "Negro" on the document. IMO, it's further proof the Factcheck one is a fake.

Hawaii made a big deal out of ooooh, can't get the vault copy because they were all destroyed (Hawaii lied!!!) when we went digital so we are only issuing these short forms. Well, then all the short forms should be exactly alike BECAUSE they are all done with the same software program. A computer only does what it's told to do, right? So, it spits out lines A, B, C day in and day out. It doesn't know to suddenly spit out A, K, S only on Hussein's. Got'cha, Hawaii, ya'll are liars AGAIN.

The Attorney General of Hawaii, Mark L. Bennett (a Republican) can issue a subpoena for Obama’s long form, vault copy birth certificate under Hawaii statutes. He just hasn’t chosen to do so.
Also, Hawaii has confirmed on several occasions that the ORIGINAL birth documents are on file.

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.”

And the following is from a July 28, 2009 USA Today article entitled “Hawaii: Obama’s Birth Certificate is Real.”
“In 2001, Hawaii’s paper documents were reproduced in electronic format, but ‘any paper data prior to that still exists,’ Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said.

Okubo would not say where Obama’s original birth certificate is but said, ‘We have backups for all of our backups.’”

Hawaii’s explanation is that because the state has always been so multiracial, parents self-select their own racial designation and the state Health Department lists whatever racial designation the parent choses. It is true that sub-Saharan Africans don’t like to be called “black” or “Negro” or “colored” and prefer to be identified by their nation of origin or ethnic group. Since Kenya was just in the process of becoming an independent nation in 1961, perhaps that explains Barack Hussein Obama Senior’s choice of “African.”
A quote on the subject from the Hawaii Department of Health: “Kurt Tsue at the DOH said that father’s race and mother’s race are supplied by the parents, and that “we accept what the parents self identify themselves to be.”
