Thursday morning, August 12, there was a debate on Rush Radio with Jeff Katz. It was the first time both candidates had debated each other. Although the Bielat campaign had refused to debate Sholley for many months now, they finally relented and allowed the debate to take place even if it was at the absurd time of 7:00 AM At the moment a poll at the Fleming and Hayes website has Sean Bielat (46%) and Earl Sholley (54%) out of a sample of 1522 voters.

Bielat may be riding a wave of voter resentment, but I fear he is an opportunist. After all, he was a registered DEMOCRAT in New York and did not bother to register to vote let alone vote when he moved to Massachusetts. If he won’t do what is in his best interests, why should I believe he would do what is in the best interests of the voters in the district?
