Even If Republicans Do NOT Take Control Of Either House, Obama Era Over
The Voice of Reason ^ | September 4, 2010 | Texas Peartree

Dick Morris is one of the best political handicappers in the business. Last week on Fox he predicted that the Republicans would pick up 80 seats in the US House of Representatives this November. Not only would that lead to a Republican majority, but also a historically significant repudiation of President Acorn's agenda.

This week Mr. Morris followed up in his nationally syndicated column by predicting that the Republicans would also pick up 10 Senate seats --or more-- and take control of the US Senate. This was almost unfathomable a few months ago based upon the relatively small number of Democrat Senate seats up for a vote this cycle.

Less commented on is this: even if the Republicans do not take control of EITHER House of Congress, the Obama agenda is through after November 2. First, although the House would remain in Democrat hands, the Senate would have enough votes (even without RINOs) to block any piece of legislation or lunatic nomination. Second, in the House you would still have "moderate" (i.e. not-flaming-liberal) Democrat Congressmen who will have seen the Democrat margin in DC disappear. This means that they can no longer hide their votes. The Democrats always allowed their members from marginal districts to vote against unpopular Democrat legislation, as the Democrats had enough votes to pass their laws. With a small majority they cannot give a pass if they need the votes to pass legislation. This means much legislation will not be brought up for a vote in order to spare the Leadership the embarrassment of...

Dick Morris might be right in this case but he is a worm.

I have no idea how the November 2nd election will turn out, although I have hope. However, simply being a sty in the eye of Obama isn’t good enough. We MUST focus on repealing all the socialist legislation passed by this Congress. We MUST return to the American Constitution as our guide. We MUST repudiate those who would do America harm, and investigate those who have betrayed this country.

My best hope is we retake the house and thus be able to control most of the agenda. In the senate, we need to make enough gains to kill major legislation and thwart extreme nominations.

Agrred with the premise of this article....the more seats the Repubs gain, the more the agenda of the AnnointedIdiot and the idiot-ridden Dems agenda is thwarted.

The worst thing that could happen is if all conservatives and republicans and independents and tea partiers get too overcondifent, complacent and take the voters for granted.

Hopefully all those entities will show up in the largest numbers at the polls in United States History in November.

We MUST focus on repealing all the socialist legislation passed by this Congress.

We ought to continue by repealing the damage done by Carter, Johnson, Nixon, FDR, and Wilson as well. I'm sure that I'm missing a few things, but ALL socialism needs to end.

Absolutely! But we need to start on what’s fresh in everyone’s mind. Then work backwards from there.

Since...when, exactly?

Beware the ides of December first. A desperate band of Marxists will attempt to put the final nails into America's coffin after the November election.

Morris became a patriot after he got out of the Kool aid drinking sphere of influence of the KKKlintons.

Really Dick Morris is a worm? Seems to me he’s done alot to help get the socialists in Washington exposed. Or is that why you call him a worm?

Running the numbers shows that if there was a change of 83 that would by statistics provide a veto proof Congress. If it comes anywhere close to that, how many “moderate” Dems would join the fray?

Tea Party groups here in CA are encouraging conservatives to register to vote by absentee ballot/ permanently. You can do it online. There is much less opportunity for corruption/ shenanigans/ hanging chads/ etc. this way. Plus, the voter turnout is usually 20% higher by absentee ballots, due to bad weather, illness, etc. on Election Day.

“If the Republicans put into place are anything like what we have had. So what?”

The media will declare Obama’s appointments to be “moderates” like they did with Ruthie Bader the A.C.L.U. queen. (No one knew of her A.C.L.U. ties and the media darn sure never told us.) The pubbies hate to be seen as obstructionists or extremists...game over.

Is it better to have our mush headed, numbskull, idiot, cowardly Rino’s in power than full blown communist hacks? Yeah. But forgive me for not doing cartwheels.

In the long term none of his will matter unless the Pubbies find new, better, more conservative, more agressive leadership.
