During the Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe match against Brazil's Bitafogo, a dog decided to go streaking around the field as the players and security tried in vane to capture it. The dog interrupted the Copa Sudamericana match when Santa Fe was up 4-0 at the 67th minute. For the next 5 minutes the dog ran around dodging the players and entertaining the crowd, it tired and headed for the bleachers. Columbia would eventually advance to the quarter-finals by defeating Santa Fe up 4-1.

They should have just ignored the pooch and left him alone. He would have evaded any player near him and wouldn’t have been a problem.

Nobody had any cheese or bacon?
The guy shaking the jacket had the right idea -- if you chase a dog, he figures it's a game and runs - if YOU run, he figures it's a game and chases you. The trick is to run (slowly) away, displaying a toy or a tasty dog treat (depending on whether your dog is toy-driven or treat-driven). This dog was having a great time playing "catch me".

Nah, he probably would have pounced on the ball, and run off with it if he could get his mouth on it. Then the referees would all scratch their heads and both teams would complain.
One of my Labs has actually made off with a bowling ball - by using the finger holes. She was staggering under the weight of the thing, but by gum she WAS going to steal it! I took it away from her because I was afraid she would break a tooth.

Video Ping!
Hey there, I know it's been awhile since I last had a video to share, but this one is a good one.
A dog interupts a soccer playoff match between a Brazillian and Columbian. No one catches him, but eventually he tires of toying with the atheletes and heads to the bleachers. ----------------------

When I first watched it, I was rooting for the dog to grab the ball. Now that would have been great.

The dog is a streaker? It's news when a dog runs around with no clothes on?
Cue the Ray Stevens song about the streaker.

OMGoodness! OV! The other video at the NorCalBlogs link, "The Streak" has got me ROFL!
After being warmed up by the smart puppy, I watched the other one, and tears of laughter are rolling down my face!

Amazing, I’ve never seen anything run for 5 minutes on a soccer field without falling down and pretending to be hurt.
To: Tijeras_Slim
So true! I think the crowd was saying “Ole” every time the dog evaded a player.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Now that’s funny. Would you post that at my site? Many who visit my site that are not Freepers will find that very funny. Especially anyone who likes organized team sports.

Later tonight I will post a heads up to FR for the ray Stevens video.
I am a big R Stevens fan, and I remember the streak song from the 70’s.

I love it when dogs play the “you can’t catch me” game. It’s a hoot!
To: OneVike
Big galoot just wanted to play.
