I had a feeling a year ago that Santorum would end up a real contender, and now Obama has unleashed the hounds on him.
I'm not necessarily endorsing him. However, I can't help but admire a man left for dead politically 6 years ago, by both sides, rising to the precipice of front-runner status.
Hit him with your best shot, Mr. President...

America loves an underdog. Rickey--Rocky--it could work.

Rather ironic that one of the shots fired at Santorum comes from Arlen Spector - “Santorm not qualified to be president”. No good turn ever goes unpunished. Help a snake again, Rick?

That’s politics though.
Today, Tim Pawlenty endorsed Michele Bachmann for congress.

Seriously? I guess that's why I gave up on professional baseball. You get fixated on the personalities on one team, and next year your players are now on the opponents team and vice versa. Just business.

a man left for dead politically 6 years ago, by both sides, rising to the precipice of front-runner status. Not to imply any similarities between the two men, but there was this certain left-for-dead politician from Whittier, California who beat a consensus establishment candidate named Romney for the nomination back in 1968.

I will cite the similarities:
Both have a tin ear for live broadcast dialogue
Both forget how cliches turn into bad sound bytes.
Both have the media loathing them.
Both have a lot of time as a pol and see government as a solution to problems.
