When he was asked how he thought history would treat him, Adolph Hitler said, The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.
This history be damned attitude is alive and functioning within todays far Left American media. It makes no pretense about being honest, it just churns out Democrat propaganda.
And sad to say, Its being aided in its fraud by useful idiots on the Right who lend credibility to the Lefts phony polls who report them without question.
It is hard to tell who is more culpable in this daily assault on the freedom of the press, but since the Left is what it is, the Right would have to be held more responsible for the damage these fake polls do to the morale American people.
under sampling Republicans over sampling Democrats to force headlines to show Barack Obama is winning is now so rampant it almost seems like the product of a frat house prank.
In this prank the reporters are being tested by the pollsters to see how far away from reality the sampling can go before someone finally asks a question or even reads the internal data of a poll before slavishly reporting it as truth.
How much of a sampling skew toward Obama can we take? Each new poll skew seems like a breath blowing up a balloon. Now polls are regularly skewed at least 10 points in favor of Obama.
Some polls delivered with a straight face have used a Democrat projected turnout 13 points higher than the expected Republican turnout. No one questions this but just sheepishly reports
..the regression to honesty Rush Limbaugh has opined will happen ten or so days before Election Day may very well not happen at all

I just got off the phone having taken a PPP poll. It was very obviously a push poll. It quoted, at length, Romney’s 47% remarks, as if to make sure everybody had heard them, and then asked if I thought they were inappropriate. Not a word about Obama’s Libyan debacle. Or about Obama’s economic debacle, etc., etc.
There were several questions about Florida politics. They repeatedly referred to Connie Mack as “Connie Mack The Fourth.” Trying to make him into Thurston Howell the Third.
Clearly a poll that was hoping for a certain result.
I agree.
The rigged polls aren’t for ratings this time, they are for effect.
Kinda like: "We don't really know much about Obama, we don't really know him" (Brian Wms. and who else in that discussion of pretense?)
bump
I believe it
I have thought for a long time now that it would be possible to assess a poll’s sampling by normalizing the data to a 50/50 poll result. Then post the sampling percentages that would be necessary to achieve the result.
Sorta ... poll in reverse. In other words, “To obtain a break even, candidate X would require Y% more turn out”
Pollsters should only be asking 4 questions:
Who will you vote for in the next Presidential Election?
What state do you live in?
Do you plan to vote in the next election?
Did you vote in the previous Presidential election?
The fact that a person is dem or pubbie should not be factored. They should have a sample size large enough to eliminate the need.
My question is, even if Romney was leading right now by 52 to 48, would the media report it as such? My gut tells me no. It’s not in their best interest to show Romney leading by a substantial margin, because it wouldn’t keep everyone guessing until election day and they are trying to help their guy win.
