One of three victims in police attacks meant for fugitive Christopher Dorner is speaking out through his attorney, who calls Torrance police officers "violent and reckless" for shooting at and detaining him.
After all, David Perdue is a thin white man who looks nothing like Dorner. And he was questioned and released by officers just moments before another officer slammed a patrol car into his truck and fired shots at him.
Perdue left his Redondo Beach home and was driving through Torrance to the beach for some early morning surfing on Thursday when he was stopped. Officers guarding the home of a law enforcement official targeted by Dorner questioned him because his Honda Ridgeline pickup truck resembled the vehicle investigators believed Dorner was driving.
Seconds after he drove away, Perdue's truck was broadsided by a Torrance police car at the corner of Flagler Land and Beryl Street, said his attorney Robert Sheahen.
"These lunatics broadsided the side of his truck, spun him around and started shooting at him," Sheahen said...

When protecting fellow police officers, you can never be too careful, no matter how many innocent civilians you kill.
He was driving a pickup truck. Obviously he had it coming.
I drive a sedan, so I am not concerned about such things...
First I hear his truck was broadsided!
See, THIS is why only cops should have guns. If a civilian did that....man would THEY be in trouble.
reckless..... you think?
In the interest of public safety, it appears that CA lawmen should not have guns.
Looked like the perp's vehicle, so they just opened fire.
The LAPD are giving the papergirls a brand new truck
This Dorner fellow is all these local cops have heard about for the last 4 days.
They have been whipped into a frenzy by their bosses and the media. Most are smart and level-headed, but a few of the stupid ones can, I imagine, be easily swept up in the hysteria and do stuff like this (assuming this story is true as reported).
Its another reason the USA has a simple, clear, concise Constitution on such basic matters.
They’re scared, but that doesn’t give them the right to terrorize innocent citizens.
Jail for them.
One more time, they have demonstrated that Police Academies have become brooderies of jack-booted thugs.
I think they were just a vew blocks apart and less than 15 minutes
This Dorner guy has them scared out of their wits.
We've heard nothing from him in quite some time.
Wonder if there are “I am NOT Chris Dorner” t-shirts for dogs.....
Not quite. They muscled some else to donate a truck to give them.
Probably not. More likely, he planned ahead, set up a place to hide, probably in an inner urban setting, and he's waiting for all the excitement to die down and for the cops to let down their guard.
Hope after broadsiding this guy, they give him more than a can of Bondo and a pack of sandpaper.
Think his lawyer will see to that.
