Redondo Beach man, shot at by police in Chris Dorner manhunt, calls Torrance officers 'reckless'
The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin ^ | February 11, 2013 | Sandy Mazza

Posted on 02/11/2013 1:32:39 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

One of three victims in police attacks meant for fugitive Christopher Dorner is speaking out through his attorney, who calls Torrance police officers "violent and reckless" for shooting at and detaining him.

After all, David Perdue is a thin white man who looks nothing like Dorner. And he was questioned and released by officers just moments before another officer slammed a patrol car into his truck and fired shots at him.

Perdue left his Redondo Beach home and was driving through Torrance to the beach for some early morning surfing on Thursday when he was stopped. Officers guarding the home of a law enforcement official targeted by Dorner questioned him because his Honda Ridgeline pickup truck resembled the vehicle investigators believed Dorner was driving.

Seconds after he drove away, Perdue's truck was broadsided by a Torrance police car at the corner of Flagler Land and Beryl Street, said his attorney Robert Sheahen.

"These lunatics broadsided the side of his truck, spun him around and started shooting at him," Sheahen said...

Why are they looking for 'what looks like' - when they ALREADY said they found his Nissan Titan left deserted because of a broken axle?

This occurred at 5:15 or so Thursday, about four hours after the attack that left one policeman dead and another injured and about six hours before the truck was found up by Big Bear.

The difference between you and me is the question we’d ask before shooting:

“When should I shoot?”

This reeks of vigilantism and us lower citizens have no recourse for their wanton disregard for the life of fellow Americans.

A real cop would go after a suspect carefully and bring a posse with him. He would call in back up and maximize the amount of force required and then make demands of the driver before escalating.

These poor people weren’t given any chance and can only count their lucky stars and thank The Lord they are still roaming this earth.

Yup, I have known cops on roids. Bunch of idiots to be sure.

But hey, we built the Police State to get rid of “dirtbags”. So we built it powerful and aggressive. The only people who could possibly be surprised by this outcome are the idiots who always vote for “more cops on the streets”, and never met a traffic law they wouldn’t vote for.

They should be charged and convicted of attempted murder.

Here's an example of the what happens when a cop fires into a car (and admits that he has not idea who is inside)

OCEANSIDE: Police say off-duty cop fired five shots in suspected road rage incident

The cop was off-duty. He shot a woman and her son, then the cops drug tested the shooting victim. The off-duty cop got off scott free.

You! Are a right thinking American. They were careless with the other guy, they would have been more accurate if it was one of us.

Besides, the guy did suffer shoulder injuries and who knows how long that will take to fully effect the changes that happen when a sudden force like being rammed by a 3,000 pound vehicle will do.

He could very well have a separated clavicle and torn rotator cuff, lower back problems and neck problems.

It could days or weeks to evidence itself and it doesn’t appear he had side curtain air bags on that vehicle.

How do we know he won’t suffer a slow bleeding edema which will paralyze or kill him.

Further, just that one violent incident could be enough to cause someone to flinch for years at certain noises and leave them unable to function in certain environments.

Like me. I freeze every time there is a convention of Klowns in town. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.

I look at the picture and see they broke his wheel clean off and then they just wantonly fired rounds at him.

Unbelievable!

Can’t stop thinking about Klowns now....

Did he have a dog in the pickup?

They must have been trying to kill the dog - BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!

Yeah it’s amazing that the police have no legal requirement to protect regular citizens, but when it comes to one of their own there is no limit to how proactive and reckless they can be!

“Most are smart and level-headed, but a few of the stupid ones can, I imagine, be easily swept up in the hysteria and do stuff like this (assuming this story is true as reported).

The dept agrees with the cops involved and has said so. That their action was relative to the “time available”. Once this would have been some kind of screwball non sequiter, but it makes as much sense as the action itself. That’s how level headed the dept is.

Another way the dept may have put it would be: “we did what we did and will do it again. there is nothing you can do about it...DROP DEAD....WE’RE THE COPS.

The incident in question happened several hours before his vehicle was found.

I know the area well. The two incidents were about 200 yards from one another and less than a 2 minute drive.

Why are these so-called ‘officers’ not currently in jail? Why are they not already charged with multiple counts of assault, aggravated assault, and deprivation of civil rights?

WHAT ???

You think they should shoot at big fat black men ???

That would be profiling...

This is like the TSA at an airport...

There elderly white nuns and little babies get groped so they dont have to check young Arab men...

so now old Asian women and thin white men are targeted..

It will only get sticky for the police in CA if they shoot any Hispanic illegal aliens...

Great idea. If I had the money I’d have a bunch of t-shirts printed and on them would be

I’M NOT DORNER SO DON’T SHOOT!

I’d also copyright the phrase.
