Musk is adept at getting taxpayer grants, subsidies and guaranteed loans, he spends hundreds of thousands for lobbying.

In the old days they would call Elon Musk “a confidence man,” always ready to sell the latest and greatest brand of snake-oil.

Exactly...The Tesla Model S is a great example showing Musk as a conman.
It goes for about $100K and does not perform as they've advertised. It probably has a niche for the filthy rich as an enviro-nazis status symbol but why should taxpayers grant subsidies or guaranteed loans to a billionaire to produce it and help the rich buy it?
We shouldn't, period!

Top Gear UK’s James May test drove the car and loved it except for the fact that it was electric.

Musk and his posts calling Broder a liar are fully in keeping with the personality of “Mr Make Kissy Lips at Obama” Musk.
Musk always goes after anyone who tells the truth about the car.
Anyway, according to a troll from the prior thread on Musk, Musk has more than enough money of his own to finance the car out of his opwn pocket -he doesn’t need taxpayer subsidies to do it.

Hah!
I read that story by John Broder yesterday of his test drive in the Northeast in cold weather, it’s hilarious.
I can understand why Musk must have been livid.

As I said yesterday. Liberals want someone else to pay for their stupidity even though they can afford it themselves.
Electric Car Owners Get a Free Ride in Ann Arbor
No argument can be made that electric car owners are somehow in need of a subsidy. A 2012 survey of electric vehicle drivers found that the vast majority come from households earning more than $100,000 per year, and are predominantly, in the words of the study, "...very well-educated, upper-middle class, white men in their early 50s..."

Yep, and I believe he could fully afford to finance it himself but the conman doesn’t want to risk his own money, he prefers to risk investors and taxpayers money.

Heh. Try driving one at high elevations on the Rockies in the winter. Park it overnight at over 9,000 feet or so, then drive it over 100 miles each way during the day. I wouldn't want to try that, but it's alright if someone else does. ;-)

LOL! That's not cold! Try driving an electric car, where temps go down to 30 below.

You’re right and anyone who’d buy an electric that lives in an area where it gets 10 degrees or below has to have rocks in their head, they’d either have to have a second car or they’d stay home a lot.

Musk is pretty good at selling the public too.
My buddy’s daughter put down $5 grand deposit on a new Tesla SUV that won’t even be built until 2014, LOL.
There really is one born every minute....
