Why would it get deleted ? There are interviews and speeches of the good doctor on Youtube going back years.
I like the guy. Anyone who can tick off Obama is ok by me.
I recorded it last night and just now finished watching it. I really admire that guy. He put the community organizer class warfare Obama to shame! I wonder if Obama is so narcisstic if he can even see it at all.
You know you’ve got the real deal when the man is better in a live interview than he is in a prepared speech. IMHO.
I missed the first 15 minutes or so last night and was able to catch it just now.
This man represents the kind of qualified, intelligent people we need in Government, sad to say his caliber is wholly lacking in DC.
Here ya go, FRiend! Link to video at the top of this thread...
Hope we see and hear more from the good doctor soon.
I don’t know enough about this guy to say he’s qualified to hold public office. Has his personal life lived up to the standard he sets in his rhetoric? I like what I’m hearing though. It’s so refreshing to hear someone frame the discussion in terms of merit not straw men. It’s a sad reflection on our governing class that we are so struck to hear conservative positions presented by someone who can speak without glorifying self or demonizing others. I often heard the criticism that Romney was “too nice” to punch back. Does a nice guy stand a chance in the cess pool of our political climate? Will this nation really allow gentlemen to govern again?
Link for this video is at the top of this thread, and also posted in #2 on this thread.
Also, Hannity's "Saving America" with Dr. Carson will be re-aired on the Fox News Channel several times this weekend:
Today - Saturday, 2/16/13: 10 PM, 1 AM (Eastern)
Sunday, 2/17/13: 9 PM, 12 midnight (Eastern)
Monday, 2/18/13: 4 AM (Eastern)
We're our own worst enemy; we trash the candidates for not being conservative enough, or we trash them because of a misspeak, or other minor offense. I remember FReepers trashing Cain and Bachmann with: “They're just not ready for prime-time.” Then these same people bitched about having Romney as the GOP candidate.
I'm sure the good doctor will have a misspeak or some other minor offense that some of the “true Conservative” FReepers will conclude makes him “Just not ready for prime-time.”
You got to give credit to the Dems in one area; THEY NEVER DISOWN OR TRASH THEIR OWN CANDIDATES.
Republican establishment digging for miracles.
Dr. Carson is a fine man, no doubt, but IMHO...
He is certainly not advocating shutting down the trillion per year social welfare-related spending, that troubled me. Food stamps could and should be replaced by private sector charity simply expanding it’s current role.
His solution for medical costs included doing something to rein in insurance profits, a “non-drastic” solution that’s been bandied about for decades and is an impossibility. Higher provider, facility and equipment costs are passed through as higher premiums, and there’s no real way around that using a framework like we have in place.
He correctly noted the cost of the tort environment. He also wonderfully recalled the original, old-time idea of charity care at the physician level.
But it seems no one is allowed to go on the air with the idea of getting health insurance out of direct paying fee for service, and a person’s payments go as capitation payments directly to providers, i.e., $x per month to the primary care physician, $y per month directly to a hospitial/outpatient facility network, and $z per month directly to specialists as needed, or some similar arrangement. This is the only way to create actual competition between providers and facilities, and there are of course, various details that need to be well-designed. Interestingly, there are some such ideas, and others, springing up around the country, as the medical industry wakes up to where government is really headed with their promises of “insurance for all”.
Health insurance itself, as pure insurance, should be similar to some disability plans, where the benefit claim paid amounts to picking up the capitation payments for people who become disabled and those who are retired. That insurance would be relatively cheap, like the premium waiver portion of LTD is. It’s easier to underwrite than fee-for-service benefits because while incidence rates remain uneffected, the expected value of claims is not subject to the vagaries paying actual costs incurred.
In order to discourage people from going without a capitation plan, providers would have to be allowed to have “no-frills” levels of services for non-members, with the requirement that they not turn them away completely. IMHO, with the correct economic principles being in effect, capitation payments would be must less than insurance costs today. The healthcare system would simply clean out the waste in the system and focus on overall good results.
Of course, in a free market, reporting companies would emerge that would rate the services, allowing for decent price comparisons. Keeping doctors’ companies separate entities from facilities companies is essential to providing a real free market system.
Perhaps Dr. Carson would like these ideas, but I doubt they will make it on the air.
It was very refreshing to hear is views, he has the ability to present ideas in a straightforward fashion that causes naysayers to sit and grumpily stare, having no response.
I hope he does not become a puppet of an increasingly desparate GOP. IMHO, Dr. Carson does not want that for himself, and he will ultimately not dance to their tune, but to his own, much to the benefit of everyone.

God bless Dr. Benjamin Carsen.
He is literally a God-send. I pray he not only gets involved politically, but that he wins high office and brings his integrity and virtue there and begin helping America roll back the progressive/liberal/leftists clock.
