Occupy National Gathering Draws 50 to Sacramento
Breitbart's California ^ | August 1, 2014 | Joel B. Pollak

SACRAMENTO -- David A.R. Barnitz surveys the lawn on the north side of the State Capitol--the handful of tents, the small circle of activists seated in the shade. This is not "the nirvana I was hoping for," he admits.

Still, as roughly 50 people gathered Thursday in the sweltering 97-degree heat for the start of the four-day Occupy National Gathering, he was encouraged by the "unity" and "sense of purpose" among those present.

"It's Occupy in its evolutionary stages," he says hopefully.

In the fall of 2011, thousands gathered in lower Manhattan for Occupy Wall Street, and thousands more staged similar demonstrations around the nation and across the world. The message of the protests--the "99%" versus the "1%"--remains the same, and is still reflected in political debates, as Democrats use themes of inequality to motivate midterm election voters.

Yet the momentum of Occupy seems to have faded entirely. To Barnitz, who goes by the nickname "Gandolf" among fellow Occupy activists, owing to his distinctive white beard, Occupy's struggles are largely the result of suppression by the government--and the media.

"It's a 1% takeover," he says, claiming that Sacramento has passed a series of ordinances making it more difficult for Occupy to stage its customary long-term protests....

Well perhaps the Cloak has fallen from their God Obama and they have seen the fraud that is the Community Organizer in Chief.

Reality may have finally sunken in for the “99%.”

Perhaps the majority of the Occupy movement has finally realized that Obama is not the One they have been waiting for. Obama is not going to be able to make the world ‘Fair’. Whatever that is.

Obama is what every other politician is except that he is worse because his minions in the press cover for him. He is immune to criticism from the press that normally would put fear in the mind of a politician. For the most part because he doesn’t think his overreaching will get much coverage and for another he believes what coverage there is will be shouted down as racism by the loyal talking heads on major TV news.

Obama is the worst sort of crony capitalist/socialist (also known as a fascist). The more people that realize this the better.

But apparently the Occupy crowd has realized that their movement and the causes that they hoped would get action by Obama are of no consequence to the man they thought their savior.

"Gandolf". What original thinking at work with these useless non-contributing wastes.

I remember the sixties when self-appointed gurus adopted what they thought were clever names. Never mind that none of them had jobs either.

Small point; I didn’t know police allowed their horses to be petted while at work unless it was at a parade. At least no officer of the law overreacted to the toddler’s pat on the horses snout.

I’d tell that ex-con with the Nazi Lowrider prison tattoos all over his head that the petting zoo is closed unless he wants me to run his identity through the CLETS system to see if him or his old lady have any warrants.

Elizabeth Warren and Michael Moore are part of the 1 per cent! Though they’re on “their side” so they prob don’t mind.

When I think Occupy I think unsanitary, drug addicted,
violence in the streets, and the 5 arrested and convicted for attempting to blow up a bridge just south of Cleveland.
In Boston, the alt. weekly Bos Phoenix used to preach all
about how great Occupy was. Then suddenly the owner sold their
similar radio station WFNX, for $14.5 million. The buyer?
Clear Channel! The biggest radio corporation out there,
the folks who syndicate Rush and Hannity. So much for “Occupy”. The station is now running country—and the paper
(save for editions in Prov and Portland ME) is now out of
business.

From 2013:

Two of the comments, though:
>>i didn’t know camping on public property, and wasting public funds were 1st amendment issues...should’ve paid the 50 dollar fine and stop clogging up the courts with this friggin’ nonsense...nobody supports Occupy except it’s members and a few ultra-liberal types...and oh yeah,George Soros...just grow up and go away, the fact of the matter,is if some ultra-conservative movement tried the same thing they would’ve been run off after one day,not allowed to squat for two months

>>How come Elizabeth Lying Phony Warren did not represent Occupy. She claimed to be their spiritual mother.

Here, two fans of the now defunct WFNX protest the sale of the station to the eeeeeeeeeeeeevil Clear Channel, at the HQ of the now defunct paper.

Nice paranoia-peddling cult leadership potential. The problem, which he's too stupid to grasp, is that Occupy was an astroturf faux-movement funded by dollars stolen from taxpayers for use in so-called community organizing.
