“Edward VIII teaching his nieces the seven-year-old future Queen and her three-year-old sister Princess Margaret how to do the salute”

Well they’re almost fascists anyway, no big deal. Those
subjects need to drop to their knees an bow to their
queen and quit acting all buthurt.

“The Queen Mother has a reputation for having served troops during the war”

In what way?

Oh great.

In ...World War II. During the war, her seemingly indomitable spirit provided moral support to the British public. In recognition of her role as an asset to British interests, Adolf Hitler described her as “the most dangerous woman in Europe”.[5] After the war, her husband’s health deteriorated and she was widowed at the age of 51.

‘The Queen - who served with the Number 1 ‘Beaufront’ Company, Auxiliary Territorial Service - can be seen maintaining a Austin K2 ambulance and standard ‘Tilly’ light truck.’

I just always think, ‘how is hustory going to treat us Neanderthals’?

We think we’re so immune that we are going to be te last generation. I’m sure some people hope so

Sympathizing with jihadists, ushering them into the country in droves, corporatist a hiring them to work for their nuclear power plants. The press manipulating matters the NYT thinks they’ll come out unscathed

Actively supporting abortion and the overseeing of 54million babies killed by their own parents. Tolerating it

It won’t be as innocuous as this. And these are people who were NOT. Nazi sympathizer by any stretch of imagination

Elizabeth and Margaret served in the British Army during the war

Their father and mother were asked to go to Canada and refused. They were asked to go to the countryside and refused. Both George VI and his wife stayed in London and toured the bombed neighborhoods especially the west end to buck up the people. They are still beloved of the people. Edward VIII was a self indulgent pain in the ass who was effectively exiled to Bermuda for the duration

As usual, the MSM completely misses the real moral of the story. The real story here is that in 1933, it was cute and amusing for them to learn the Nazi salute. In 1939, it was completely different, wasn’t it? I think this has relevance for our times.

Seems to me the “Johnny Reb wannabe’s’’ can’t let The Civil War go.

Thanks for the keywords and tags. I’m going to check out
some documentaries. Sounds interesting.

“The British Royalty, certainly Elizabeth and her Motherwell NOT nazi sympathizes

I could curse”

Edward and Wallis met with Hitler repeatedly; they certainly sympathized with Hitler. Edward was sidelined to be a governor of some small island during WW2 as he was deemed a security risk. Churchill, at the close of WW2, ordered files regarding this and other actions sealed permanently.

You might also know that the “Queen Mum” disliked Prince Phillip’s sisters marrying SS officers (true, 3 did). She did so intensely that she disapproved initially of the match. She called him “The Hun” and wanted her daughter to marry a domestically sourced suitor.

This is not to say that the royal family were all NAZI sympathizers. Certainly Prince Phillip is not, but his sisters married into the ranks of the SS. The SS pledged loyalty unto death to Adolph Hitler. There is even a photo of him in his late teens at a funeral where he is flanked by those in SS garb. He himself did not subscribe to the doctrine, but his family members certainly did. To say that the royal family is free of such associations is just not accurate. You have the “Queen Mum’s” word on it, and Churchill’s word too.

And the facts about Edward are indisputable. The photos too.

In 1933 George V was king—Edward VIII was not yet Edward VIII. I think he went by a different name than Edward while still Prince of Wales.

That’s one way to dismiss facts and history.

No one with any sense of order could care less about these petty facts or fiction.

If you could show what is the “fiction” in what I reported, and back it up, I will concede. Otherwise, you are frustrated by facts you refuse to accept.

And as to “petty facts” — the facts about Edward the VIII are far from that — or you believe Churchill knows less than you do about the topic. People died because of what Edward VIII did, and failed to do, in the interwar and war years. Good people, innocent people. Petty?

Some of the facts about Prince Phillip are here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/prince-philip/8557063/The-Duke-of-Edinburgh-at-90-a-tragic-childhood.html

The Telegraph did not deem that “petty.” The photo of him leads the article. He was not a NAZI supporter, but his three sisters married into the SS. The Queen Mother DID object to his lineage and family before her daughter married him.

The reference to the SS - brother-in-laws was made as recently as last month in the British press:

http://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/586974/the-queen-prince-philip-family-reunion-germany-berlin-nazi-history-war

If you have better and other sources that deny these facts, please provide.

Shooting the messenger won’t change these facts.

“In 1933 George V was king—Edward VIII was not yet Edward VIII. I think he went by a different name than Edward while still Prince of Wales.”

Officially he was Edward, Prince of Wales, but he was always known in his family (and by his closest friends) as David.
